Repent for voting for Obama?
Posted at 11:59 PM on November 13, 2008 by yeahwecool

Greetings Saints,

I was told by a Godtuber that I would have to repent and one day explain to God, why I voted for Obama. I hold true to my earlier claim that God chooses the leaders in the kingdoms of men, and gives them to even the lowest of men, as Daniel 4:17 states.

I must say, that I am a Christian. Jesus Christ is my King. I live in the United States. I abide by the laws of the constitution of this land. I am a veteran. I would have given my life for any American, as I affirmed to support and defend this land from enemies both foriegn and domestic.

As a Christian, my allegiance is to Jesus Christ, first and foremost. I am well aware that God has blessed this country. I am also aware that righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. We have freedoms in the US that many others dont't have i.e., speech, assembly, right to bear arms, worship, and the privilege to vote. As much as I have those rights and... Read More »

image I was reading Rev 16:12/Isaiah 49:12 (Sinim is China) and thinking about the 'Kings of the East', a reference to China in the last days...and I thought about the Chinese Christians that are in the 'underground' church in that nation. As we watch the pomp and pageantry of the 2008 olympics, I can't help but pray for the Chinese Christians that are beatened, battered, bruised, and jailed for being followers of Jesus Christ.

In China, they have the official state church, called the 'Three Self Church.' This so-called church is infiltrated with members loyal to the comunist party. They are saddled down with rules that actually prohibit the spread of the gospel.

Take a look at their rules:

On January 14, 1996, the communist Central Committee criminalized all Christian activity outside the Three Self Church. One could not place a direct call to a church or visit a church without a government permit. The rules governing even the state controlled church in China are as follows:

1. Christian believers must fervently love the People's Republic of China, support the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and the Peoples Government, uphold the unification of the motherland and the harmony among ethnic groups, and work steadfastly on the road of socialism.

2. Christian believers must strictly abide by all the laws, regulations, and policies of the Communist Party and the State, and strive to be patriotic and law abiding citizens.

3. Christian believers must actively work to increase the material wealth and cultivate the spiritual morals of the socialist civilization. They must comply with the government's labor codes and strive to contribute to the development of the "Four Modernizations." When scheduled religious activities are in conflict with production and work schedules, the economic activities must take priority.

4. A permit must be obtained from the county Religious Affairs Bureau in order to establish religious meeting points. No unauthorized meeting points are allowed.

5. Christian believers must actively cooperate with the government to carry out thoroughly the Party's religious policies to the letter. They shall not persuade and force others to believe in Christianity. They shall not brainwash teenagers under 18 with religious beliefs. They shall not bring children to religious activities.

6. One should see a doctor for medication when sick. Christian believers must not resort to prayer alone for healing so as not to endanger people's health and lives.

7. Christian believers shall not preach their religion outside the church buildings and specific places which have been designated for religious activities. They shall not preach itinerantly. They shall not receive self proclaimed evangelists into their homes, churches, or meeting points.

If the reader would like to meet some real first century Christians who are willing to die rather than deny Jesus Christ, attend an underground church meeting in China. Please pray for those brave brothers and sisters in Christ as they face persecution, divided families, loss of jobs, and death daily.

Isaiah 49:12
Lo, these shall come from far; and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

image A friend recently asked me How can you tell that a prophet is a false prophet?

When their prophecy doesnt come true!

My reply was almost juvenile, but true - if God is truly speaking to someone and they are relaying His words to you, then whatever He tells them is supposed to happen.

Remember Numbers 23:19? Or, how about Isaiah 55:11? So whos the liar - God or the prophet? I think we all know the answer to this question.

But what about the things that have happened to me that have been prophesied you ask?

Im not a naysayer - in general. I believe in the power of God and I believe that He is the Supreme Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Nothing happens except the Lord wills it.

I cant, however, take todays parking lot prophets seriously either (these are the folks who accost you in the parking lot after church to tell you what thus says the Lord).

Ive been prophesied to before, and the prophesies have generally been vague and open ended. God told me to tell you that your breakthrough is coming they say, or The Lord told me to tell you that your latter will be greater than your former, thus says the Lord.

No one has ever told me The Lord told me to tell you that on Tuesday April 1, 2008 you will get a call from your friend TJ asking you to forgive her for lying on you in court.

Most of todays prophets act more like fortune tellers that you see on late night television.

They say "The Lord is showing me someone in your life with a name that begins with T"...does that sound familiar to you? It does, ok...the Lord says that T owes you money, is that correct? No? OK, umm, is there someone who's name begins with C that owes you money? No, umm, I'm hearing a C, or T, or D, or P, or... you get the point.

Look at Jesus...remember when he told the disciples to go to a house, get the donkey, and if the man of the house stops you, tell him that the Lord has need of it....or when Saul was looking for his father's donkey's before he became king...and was specically told: where to go, who he'd meet along the way, what to do, and what would happen! All ofwhich CAME TO PASS! As soon as you discern vague so-called prophecies, REBUKE them.

WAKE UP Y'ALL! The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy....bump all of these "what's in it FOR ME prophecies....preach Jesus Christ...most other things are distractions. It ain't about YOUR breakthrough, YOUR destiny, YOUR increase...LIFT UP CHRIST...it's about YOUR testimony of HIM! UGHHH!

image Exposing error is most unpopular work. But from every true standpoint it is worthwhile work. To our Savior, it means that He receives from us, His blood-bought ones, the loyalty that is His due. To ourselves, if we consider “the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt,” it ensures future reward, a thousand-fold. And to souls “caught in the snare of the fowler”-how many of them God only knows-it may mean light and life, abundant and everlasting.”

image Words of advice from a young minister:

Warning against false teachers!

I lead worship for high school ministry at my church. The pastor that I serve with there has decided to get us counselors together once
a month for accountability, prayer, and a time in the word. (There's about ten of us) God laid it on his heart for us to go through the pastoral epistles of 1,2 Timothy and Titus. So every month he wants
us to study a chapter and bring back an outline of what God has shown us on that particular text of scripture. Our second meeting is coming
up in about a week and so far I've broken down verse 1... Pray that I wouldn't procrastinate, and that God would speak to me and grant me
the ability to rightly divide His word. These books are so rich with theology and doctrine, so I really need to do my homework! My thoughts for the night... God bless all

image Here's a quote from A.W. Tozer:

The weakness of so many modern Christians is that they feel too much at home in the world. In their effort to achieve restful "adjustment" to unregenerate society they have lost their pilgrim character and become an essential part of the very moral order against which they are sent to protest. The world recognizes them and accepts them for what they are. And this is the saddest thing that can be said about them. They are not lonely, but neither are they saints.

image CLOTHED WITH CHRIST

"For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ (Galatians 3:27)."

What does it mean to be baptized? It is to go down into death and to come back up into life. We were baptized into Christ. The water of baptism does not merely signify the washing away of sins, but the death of the sinner. We go down into the water, and we are brought up out of the water. If we were to stay under the water for long we would surely die. But we are quickly lifted back up out of the "grave". This represents death and resurrection.

The outward sign of water baptism is meant to represent an inward spiritual truth - that I am baptized indeed, not into water only, but into Christ. I died with Him, and I was raised with Him. If I am one with Him then His death is my death; when He is raised, I too am raised. God has placed us in Christ, and since we are joined to the Lord, we are one spirit with Him. The Branches will go the way of the Vine. The Body will go the way of the Head.

So we may say it this way: to put on the Lord Jesus is to be clothed with Him. The apostle makes a connection between baptism into Christ and putting on Christ: he says these two are one and the same. When we signified our oneness with Him through baptism, we buried ourselves into Him and He became our covering. Have you clothed yourself with Christ? Some people are naked altogether, and their shame is evident to everyone but themselves. Others are clothed with the filthy rags of their own self-righteousness. Then there are those who are clothed with Christ. They are immersed into Him, and we touch something in them which is larger than them.

In our relationships it is easy to touch one another in the flesh. But to put on the Lord Jesus is to make no provision for the flesh, even in our relationships. To "know no man after the flesh" is truly a challenge. We "project" a certain something, and either it is ourselves, or it is Christ. We note the personality differences between Paul, and Peter, and John, and James, and Barnabas; even so, they each have the same clothing, having put on the Lord Jesus. So we can touch them on a deeper level than who they are in themselves. We can still see the man, but we mostly see the Lord of the man. When we put on the Lord Jesus then the outward man becomes consistent with the inward man. This is fruitfulness, and this should be the normal experience of all disciples of the Lord.

image My thoughts from a funeral that I attended Monday:

"but time and chance happeneth to them all" - we never know when death comes, but it comes to all.

When time and chance happen to us.

The Father's presence encircled Christ, and nothing befell Him but that which infinite love permitted for the blessing of the world. Here was His source of comfort, and it is for us. He who is imbued with the Spirit of Christ abides in Christ. Whatever comes to him comes from the Saviour, who surrounds him with His presence. Nothing can touch him except by the Lord's permission. All our sufferings and sorrows, all our temptations and trials, all our sadness and griefs, all our persecutions and privations, in short, all things work together for our good. All experiences and circumstances are God's workmen whereby good is brought to us.
