The Sin of Prayerlessness, Part 45 (The Prayer Motivator Devotional #514)

Our prayer motivator verse from the Word of God today is Luke 6:12 which reads: "And it came to pass in those days, that he [Jesus] went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God."

My personal encouragement today is this: Prayer is like any other important discipline in the Christian life. If you don’t do it, you won’t reap the benefits and blessings that God wants you to have. If you want to reap the benefits and blessings of prayer, then you need to Just Pray!

Our prayer motivator quote today is from John Wesley. He said: "God's command to "pray without ceasing' is founded on the necessity we have of his grace to preserve the life of God in the soul, which can no more subsist one moment without it, than the body can without air."

Our prayer motivator devotional today is part 45 of our series titled "THE SIN OF PRAYERLESSNESS" from Dr. John R. Rice.

Third, take time to pray about things as they come up. Years ago as a preacher I found it impossible to remember all the requests for prayer that would come to me in a day's time. So I formed a habit of stopping to pray for every case about which I was impressed that I ought to pray, at the time it was mentioned. And then I never promise to pray for any matter in the future except as God lays it on my heart and brings it to my mind. I have found a great peace in going to God with every burden the moment I feel the need for prayer about it.
