UN labels Iran, N. Korea as 'serious' threats; N. Korea won't give up nukes (Second Coming Watch Update #335)

According to the Associated Press, ahead of a round of major nuclear talks, five major powers labeled North Korea and Iran as "serious challenges" to the world's nuclear security, citing their repeated defiance of international obligations.


According to Reuters, North Korea reiterated on Saturday that it would not give up its nuclear weapons, rejecting a U.S. condition for talks although it said it was willing to discuss disarmament.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the U.S. Department of Defense is nearing the finalization of a $10 billion arms deal with Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

According to The Telegraph of Great Britain, Israel has threatened to intervene in the Syrian conflict, saying it could act to prevent chemical and other weapons from getting into the hands of militant Islamist groups.

According to The Associated Press, Iran's state TV says a moderate, magnitude 5.2 earthquake rattled a small town in the country's northwest region.
