Putin vows to continue arming Syria (Second Coming Watch Update #394)

1. According to The Los Angeles Times, President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that Russia will continue to supply weapons to Syria in the event of a U.S. military strike, as three naval ships headed to the eastern Mediterranean to bolster the country’s fleet near the Syrian coast.

2. According to Reuters, a U.S. official said on Friday that turmoil in Syria and Egypt is nudging Israelis and Palestinians toward peace, as Secretary of State John Kerry flew to Europe for talks about that conflict and a possible U.S. strike on Syrian targets.

3. According to Religion Today, Indonesian pastor One-kes-yi Zega and three of his assistants were arrested recently by a district police officer after being accused of baptizing Muslims.

4. According to The Times of Israel, Russia is warning that a US strike on Syria’s atomic facilities might result in a nuclear catastrophe and is urging the UN to present a risk analysis of such a scenario.

5. According to AFP, Turkey has beefed up its military presence along its southern border with Syria in anticipation of strikes on the regime in Damascus.

Jesus Christ said in Mark 8:38: “Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
