The Sin of Prayerlessness, Part 3 (The Prayer Motivator Devotional #472)

Our prayer motivator verse for today is Luke 21:36 which reads: "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."

Allow me to share with you some important points regarding this verse from Matthew Henry's Commentary:

Watch therefore, and pray always. Watch against sin; watch in every duty, and make the most of every opportunity to do good. Pray always: those shall be accounted worthy to live a life of praise in the other world, who live a life of prayer in this world. May we begin, employ, and conclude each day attending to Christ's word, obeying his precepts, and following his example, that whenever he comes we may be found watching.

My personal encouragement to you today is this: Here are 4 ways to pray for others from Dr. J. Gordon Henry --- 1. Ask that God will cause the believer to not love the world system. 2. Ask that the person have a spirit of brokenness and humility. 3. Ask that the person have a servant's heart. 4. Ask that the person be able to build a Scriptural family.

Our prayer motivator quote today is from Richard Hooker. He said: "Prayer is the first thing wherewith a righteous life beginneth, and the last wherewith it doth end."

Our prayer motivator devotional today is part 3 of our series titled "THE SIN OF PRAYERLESSNESS" from Dr. John R. Rice.
