Hindrances to Prayer, Part 40 (The Prayer Motivator Devotional #451)

SCRIPTURE: 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

PERSONAL ENCOURAGEMENT: You need to let your children see you pray. Your children need to see you pray through the good times and the bad times. They need to see you pray constantly. They need to see you pray without ceasing. Not only should your children see you pray, let them hear you pray. In other words, pray out loud. Let them hear you call out their names in prayer. Pray for them and with them. Yes, indeed, men, women, boys, and girls ought to pray because we need God in our lives to help us do what He wants done in the world.

QUOTE: S.D. Gordon, "It may sound strange, but in its simplest meaning prayer has to do with conflict. Rightly understood it is the deciding factor in a spirit conflict...Prayer is man giving God a footing on the contested territory of this earth."
