Dinah was Jacob's only daughter by his wife Leah. Imagine being the only girl in the house and having 12 brothers.

Imagine the conflict that arose when Shechem raped her. Then he wanted to marry her as a way of easing his conscience. At the same time her brothers were plotting Shechem's death and their revenge. In all sexual crimes many more people are affected by the crime. Often times, families are destroyed by the stress. People search for the "easy way out" but there isn't one it is an event that you have to live through fortified with large doses of prayer, patience and love.
