Ellen of Troy

Ellen of Troy

A day at the park and not just any day! Take a journey that my heart has recently taken. I whispered to God what should we do God? I dont want to be alone today. I drove to the Gazebo on the water. Took a great book which I will share much from.

A couple of years ago I was given a word from a man I did not know. He called me Ellen of Troy. The shocker was he did not know my name but he started to pour into my heart words that only God would know to speak. A beautiful view from every angle. It stood beside the Gazebo and looked out at the water. The Gazebo was draped with flowers and the water reflected the sun. Fish were alive and jumping out of the water. Geese walking and swimming pay no mind that I was present. I poured my wine and filled it with strawberries. My fork played with my salad why I read and bit by bit each bite delighted my taste buds. I was very content and I no longer felt alone. Helen of troy must have really been something. Two kingdoms went to war over her; thousands of men gave up their lives so that one might have her. Hers was the face that launched a thousand ships. Paris stole away with Helen and took her back to Troy. It was the beginning of the Trojan war. Few have ever felt so pursued. It is a rare soul indeed who has been sought after for who she is - not because of what she can do, or what others can gain from her, but simply for herself. Can you recall a time when a significant someone in your life sat you down with the sole purpose of wanting to know your heart more deeply, fully expecting to enjoy what he found there? We will draw our identity from outside ourselves; the question is, from whom? In the end, it will be from those moments and those people on whom we've had the biggest impact. Think again about Helen of Troy. Why of Troy? In calling her Helen of Troy we are forever reminded of the impact she had on the mediteranean world. She is not Helen the beauty or Helen like no other woman. Those are qualities
