Modeling Uncompromising Courage...under God's sovereign rein
2008-7-6 Modeling Uncompromising Courage...under God's sovereign rein Part 2<br />
SOVEREIGNâ?¦is a big word. In short, it describes someone or something with commanding dominance or direction over people, events or things (like a monarchy or government). Some nations like the United States are sovereign, for we are self-governing and independent (weâ??re grateful for our freedom!). At times, sovereignty speaks of mastery or overbearing authority, forcing its subjects no say at all. This type of authority predetermines everything for its subjects, leaving no room for a relationship with the authority. We know that God is sovereign, but to what degree? The Bible indicates God to be all-powerful, all-knowing, always presentâ?¦but why, in his authority, is evil & sin allowed to affect us? Is God unable to reign it inâ?¦or is He allowing suffering so that we would trust Him all the more? Tough questions that Josephâ??s life seems to address a little. We hope today is encouraging to you to patiently trust in Godâ??s power even more!

Today's Devotional
A Prayer to Help You Comfort Others - Your Daily Prayer - April 25
Have you ever wondered if there is any purpose in your suffering? We certainly don’t go looking for suffering—it comes to us because life is a journey through difficulties and triumphs. Sufferings are a reminder of what Jesus Christ went through and it is a way for us to encourage others.
