Sermon: "The Spirit and Christian Worship," Part 1. 08/29/2010. First Presbyterian Church, Perkasie
Should you visit a variety of Christian churches and observe their services of worship, you might be bewildered by the many different forms of worship you find. Some of the mainline churches may be rather formal and liturgical, with many rituals that have been practiced for years. Other churches may be more informal and free, following the leading of the Spirit for that particular day. Are we free to approach God any way that we choose? Is what you "get" out of the worship service the most important thing, or should you be looking for something else? Churches which hold to the reformed faith follow "the regulative principle for worship." Do you know what that means or why it is important? Watch as Pastor MacLaren shows from Isaiah 43:14-44:5 how God directs us to worship him, and see the role of the Holy Spirit in our worship. This sermon was preached on August 29, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, PA (www.firstchurchopc.org), an Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Rev. Richard Scott MacLaren is the pastor.

A Prayer to Help You Comfort Others - Your Daily Prayer - April 25
Have you ever wondered if there is any purpose in your suffering? We certainly don’t go looking for suffering—it comes to us because life is a journey through difficulties and triumphs. Sufferings are a reminder of what Jesus Christ went through and it is a way for us to encourage others.
