The Gospel No More

Come Back into the Light, My Brethren, come back into the Light.

They lie all day long and devise a plan,

controversies to polarize the church for gain.

Come back into the light.

What does the world see when we are there, my Brethren?

What does the world see?

They see a church stained with the cares of the world.

They see a church stained with the politics of the world.

They see a church with the issues of the day.

Come back into the light.

Propositions and laws of the land, issues of the day.

They see political things, which from the Gospel, takes us away,

They see a walking library of politics.

And screaming not of God's word,

They don't see our Message, ordained by the Lord

Where is the Gospel now?

Come back into the light.

The Earth sees the political issues, the polarizing issues,

Not the Gospel anymore.

The salt has lost it's saltiness. The salt has lost it's savor.

Come back into the light.

We are pegged for politics; being played like harps,

Policial pawns in a worldly dark,

I cannot remain so stone of heart,

The Gospel's sake is to do my part,

Come back into the Light, my brethren, come back into the light.

Come back into the light, My brethren, come back into the light.

The Republicans play us for votes,

The Democrats live by their throats,

our churches are political venues,

a ballot of political menu
