According to Reuters, Federal scientists investigating an unusually high number of dead bottlenose dolphins washing up on the East Coast said that the carcasses are showing up at a rate that is seven times higher than usual. 5. According to the New York Times, scientists are reporting that camels may be a carrier of the mysterious virus that has infected at least 94 people in the Middle East and killed half of them. The virus, first detected last year in Saudi Arabia, causes Middle East respiratory syndrome, or MERS, which begins with flu-like symptoms and can progress to severe pneumonia.
