Era of "incurable" gonorrhea is close at hand (Second Coming Watch Update #294)

1. According to U.S. News & World Report, the fears of major health organizations have come true: Gonorrhea that is immune to the last remaining effective oral antibiotic has been detected in at least nine North American patients, meaning the era of "incurable" gonorrhea could be close. Last year, both the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control warned that untreatable gonorrhea could soon be a reality as the bacteria showed increasing resistance to antibiotics. Cases of untreatable gonorrhea have been reported in the United Kingdom, Austria, France, Norway, and Japan.

2. According to The Times of Israel, a major storm system has virtually shut down the city of Jerusalem and many places inside the country. Israel's largest storm in 20 years brought snow and freezing temperatures and forced authorities to shut down highways and roads in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv due to ice that had accumulated. Elsewhere around the country, there was heavy flooding and widespread power outages. Some locations reported snowfall several inches deep and the level of the Sea of Galilee has risen since the storm began. Meanwhile, Jewish rabbis, quoting Isaiah 1:18, said that the snowfall in Israel was a good sign from God that the people's sins had been forgiven.
