Israeli minister says Israel will not agree to any changes to peace deal with Egypt. According to Fox News, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that Israel would not agree to reevaluate its peace deal with Egypt. In a bid to restore security to the increasingly lawless Sinai peninsula, Israel and Egypt have agreed to temporarily waive limits on troops included in the historic 1979 peace deal, allowing Egypt to send heavier weaponry into the vast desert region which borders Israel. However, Lieberman said, "There is no chance that Israel will agree to any kind of change."

Deadly flash flooding hits northern India. According to The Associated Press, a flash flood triggered by torrential rain has killed at least nine construction workers and left 15 others missing and feared dead in India's remote northeast. The government says the workers were swept away by the swirling waters of a flooded river. Helicopters have dropped food supplies to nearly 10,000 people living in six villages cut off due to damage to the main highway in the area.
