Patient and Kind

PATIENT AND KIND

Oh, how you captivate me Jesus,
And I want to do what my Master pleases
So take this bread and break it
And oh, this vessel! Would you remake it?

Patient and kind, that's who you are.
The one and only, The Morning Star.
Full of love and light, and everything good,
Not wanting to scold me like my father would.

Here's my skin containing old wine.
Replace it with the fresh and divine.
Your fruit, my Love is delightful and sweet
And my heart responds when you whisper, “Come eat.”

Patient and kind, that's who you are.
The one and only, The Morning Star.
Full of love and light, and everything good,
Not wanting to scold me like my father would.

Planted, rooted, grounded in you
Learning to walk in a different shoe
There is a new place for me to discover
A place where you are my only lover

Patient and kind, that's who you are.
The one and only, The Morning Star.
Full of love and light, and everything good,
Not wanting to scold me like my father would.

I see you beckoning with your finger.
“My love,” you say, “come away and linger.
I would never reject you, for Faithful is my name,
Yesterday, today, and forever the same.”

Patient and kind, that's who you are.
The one and only, The Morning Star.
Full of love and light, and everything good,
Not wanting to scold me like my father would.

Courage to Love

COURAGE TO LOVE

Lord, my prayer is for courage to be strong,
Even though the wait is painfully long.
You said you wanted me to enjoy this journey,
So here's my heart, Lord. Revive me and stir me.

Help me to be still when you want to speak,
For you want to hold me and kiss my cheek.
"Why do you love me? Why, Lord?" I say
"And why so much pain, Lord? Please go away."

Then I hear you respond in a gentle tone,
"Love is my nature. I can't leave you alone.
When I was on the cross, love held you there,
And love is holding you. I'm not going anywhere."

From your love nothing on earth could separate me
And running from it tends to exasperate me.
But you're showing me that I'm worthy, Lord
And when I press in to you, there'll be a reward.

Your words are better than honey so sweet,
Giving me strength for my journey; they are my meat.
Your thoughts outnumber the grains of sand,
And you have my name written in your hand.

Your well is always open, a reservoir of love.
You can drink from it freely, says a voice from above.
Come buy this water without money and without price.
And it shall cleanse you from every vice.

So I close my eyes and take your hand,
And let you lead me through this foreign land
Where I finally decide to give you permission
To love me with a love without condition.

As together we walk, we become one,
Me the father, the spirit, and son.
You stop along the way to give me a flower
And pour on me your love, a heavenly shower.

Not just a sprinkle, or drop or two,
But a downpour of affection when I'm holding you.
There is wholeness and healing in your embrace
And plenty of confidence to finish the race.

Amen

Jehovah Shammah (a poem the Lord gave me)

JEHOVAH SHAMMAH

Jehovah Shammah means The Lord He is There.
And as He cares for the flowers, for me He does care.
He's here to support me in everything I do,
And to love me even though to Him I'm not always true.

He was there when I was born and none could know me better,
For it is He who crafted me, like a beautiful sweater.
He knows what caused every affliction, shame and trouble,
But He said in His word that for my shame He'll give me double.

When I sought for love in the ungodly place
It left me full of not acceptance but disgrace.
But even then Jehovah Shammah was drawing me near.
I could hear His voice calling, My daughter, I'm right here.

Then finally to His voice I did heed.
He had wanted to satisfy my every need,
And learn to place my affections on things above
For in Him I would find unconditional love.

But even now, when I want to wander and stray
And those who love me I tend to push away,
I still sense the Lord calling, My dear daughter,
Drink from my well. There's healing in my water.

He's shown me that He is my father, my brother, my husband, my friend.
He's been with me from the beginning, and will be until the end.
So in closing, I've one thing left to say:
Jehovah Shammah will never, never, never go away.

Deuteronomy 31:8
It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit--depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm].
