Sonshine Fest 2008

OH MY GOSH, DUDE!!!!!!!! Last Wednesday through Saturday are THE BEST 4 DAYS OF MY LIFE!!!! SONSHINE RULED!!! Despite the pain in my back that I couldn't dance like crazy, despite that Al Snow didn't make it to the pro wrestling show, despite that Eleventyseven didn't make it to Sonshine, and despite that I was extremely close gettin an autograph from Skillet only to get cut off, it was SOOOOOOO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wednesday, we left for Sonshine Fest in Wilmar, MN and saw Jars of Clay perform! I wasn't at the HM (heavy metal) stage alot and missed out on a few bands cause of my back pain. My back went out on Monday but felt tons better by Friday and still feel stiff today but hopefully will be 100% soon! Throughout the 4 day event, we saw bands like Haste the Day, Run Kid Run, Children 18:3, Skillet, Red, Pillar, Flyleaf, and tons more!
It was fun hangin out with Fox, Aaron, Seth, Justyn, Granger, Troy, Sholay(spl?), and Karl! Great times goofin off, swimmin in the lake, talkin about music, christianity, and stuff! Seth and I had an awesome talk about certian things! We were mostly talkin about how we improve our walk with christ and our passions. I got way fired up when I talked about my ideas of helpin out the youth group, how I want to do Christian based stuff with multimedia releated things, how I should improve my bible readings, etc. Seth said my heart seems to be in the right place and extremely passionate about the youth group and said in order to improve on readin the bible, keep on prayin and keep on readin! Time to take action, man! Please pray for me to have a stronger will in readin God's word!!! I have so many crazy ideas to help out TNT but I'll tell ya all that someday.
For mechindise, I got a free CD of independent Christian bands from Club 3 Degrees by donatin a dollar. A CD called Rage Against Abuse from a group that is against child abuse. The bands on that CD range from light stuff to metal! The CDs I bought there are Styper - In God We Trust, Bloodgood - Greatest Hits, and Ultimate Metal Vol 2. I even bought some cassettes! That's right, you heard me, cassettes!! A hardcore 80s metal fan must have some cassettes!! Playin one for the first time in years was like a blast to the past! Now that's hardcore! I got Axeman Greatest Hits, Ultimate Rock Collection, and Ultimate Metal Vol 1! WOOOOOOO!!!! I also bought a hat that said Sonshine Festival HM (Heavy Metal) and the visor part of it had a metallic look!
Hangin out with friends, goin out seein awesome bands, swimmin in the lake, eatin at the best Pizza Hut ever, seein a couple legends at a World Impact Wrestling show, and takin a shower in HEAVY rain are pretty cool!! What is also pretty sweet is meetin new people! I was walkin in Sonshine's civic center talkin to people at merchindise stands and around the bulidin just cause! I talked to a couple people from Club 3 Degrees and had a pretty sweet conversation! I got a card from one of the guys that work there so I can call him whenever I can get a group over there and get sum good deals!
I also talked to dudes from Urban Plunge, CTI Music Ministries, TheBlast.FM, ChristianNerd, and other places inside the Civic Center! All of em are pretty nice people and loved meetin every single one of them!! . Friday and Saturday, a security guard named Wayne came over to our campsite and hung with us! Great man! He's pursuin to be a State Trooper! Please pray for him that he gets the job! Sometime Saturday afternoon, after Granger, Sholay, and I ate at the best Pizza Hut ever, we went to Best Buy so I could get a new battery for my camera. At the check out desk, I was talkin to the check out lady! We were chattin bout Sonshine, music, youth groups, n stuff for maybe half an hour! She's pretty cool.......and pretty cute!!
Before Skillet played, this dude from South Carolina (forgot name sorry) talked about some things. Like his faith and stuff. One of the themes is confession and how you should not cover up your sins. If there is somethin bad that you did, confess to God ASAP and he'll forgive you! It's great to have a Lord that forgives! He talked about somewhere in the Bible about David where he did some bad things like adultry, lying, and murdering till eventually confessed to God! I wish I could remember more of this but it was a great speech! He asked a question if there is any non-belivers at Sonshine ready and willing to walk with Christ raise their hands. DUDE!! I could not believe my eyes that so many hands were raised! I had tears in my eyes to see them coming to God! A wonderful moment that I'll never ever forget!
Sonshine is a great event and recommend it to everybody! The music, the lake, the places, hangin out with friends, meetin new people. They are the best 4 days of my life!!!
