From small town punk, playing in a garage band with his Fender amp cranked to elevenstomping on his wah-fuzz pedal, to becoming the Jingle King of Minneapolis, Terry has written and produced thousands of pieces of music for TV commercialsfrom Target to McDonalds, Pepsi to Perkins, Harleys to Hondas, and Golden Grahams to Billy Graham. He climbed the creative corporate ladder only to find disenchantment once there.
Thats when he got proactive. He wrote a book called Blue Collar God/White Collar God. (Thomas Nelson, 2001) He started telling stories about the one product that he knew could change peoples livesa connection with God. He knew because it changed his life.
Now hes taking this story on the road. Hes created a two-part exercise for churches called Breathing Lessons. The Surprise Me Experiment, based on his book, Surprise Me, (Nav Press, 2005) is a lesson in spiritually inhaling and is getting rolled out in business groups, churches, college campuses, and organizations of every kind across America. Terrys new book, Be the Surprise (Nav Press, 2008), is filled with stories of spiritually exhaling, and puts a stamp of action on the Breathing Lessons exercise.
Terry spends much of his time traveling and speaking to audiences, encouraging this life of adventure, surprise, and learning to breathe spiritually. He and his wife, Mary, have three daughters, one son-in-law, and a disobedient dog. They live in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A Prayer When a Situation Seems Impossible - Your Daily Prayer - April 24
My wife has recently painted these words on a wall in our house as a reminder to us both: “Mightier than the waves of the sea, is His love for us!” (Inspired by Psalm 93:4). Please remember this. Mightier than the tempest you are facing is His love for you!
