Divide the Word Ministries (DTW) exists for the sole purpose of training believers to do the work of the ministry. Whether these believers be lay leaders (non-paid volunteers) or professional ministers (those who get their living from the gospel, 1 Cor 9:14), DTWs theme for existence is found in Pauls words in Ephesians 4:11-12:

"And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ" (Eph 4:11-12).

Paul instructed those gifted in apostleship, prophecy, evangelism, pastoring, and teaching to equip the people of Christ to do the work of the ministry. DTW exists to live out this command.
