i watched your video 'why i am catholic. i noticed that every thing in it came from some man 'that is' all the quotes. look and trust in no man for salvation but look to god and his word.the bible says that you need not that any one teach you. read the bible' especially the new testament and open your heart and let gods word truly sink into your heart.you have a video on your page about persecution. do you not know that the catholic churh has been one of the biggest persecutors of christans and put many to death thru the middle ages by all manner of cruel punishments by burning them at the stake and various other means? if the catholics had hve had their way' we would not have been allowed to own a bible.they shut up the word of god to men so they could interpret it as they wanted to.they have perverted the gospel by adding mary as co mediator with christ and denied that christ is the only way to salvation.awaken o thou that slumberest and let go of your blind religous pride and ask the lord of glory into your heart and ask him to forgive you for being blinded to the truth and confess your sins to him and not some man and he will forgive you.also' you shold not bow down and worship any man but worship god alone.i hope god opens your eyes.
Hi there,
I grew up as catholic in Germany, so I know a little bit what I'm talking about. You know, what disturbs me a lot in what you wrote is that Catholics "ask the saints and Our Blessed Mother to intercess to God for us". Where does it say in the Bible that the Saints (and you mean the DEAD saints, right?) or that Mary can intercede for us? It does not talk about that anywhere, but you still believe it, like every other catholic. Paul in his letters addresses the LIVING saints, meaning the believers in Christ. Not people that were called "saints" by the catholic church. If you really want to find out the truth, try www.gotquestions.org. They have a site there about catholic questions, and I am sure you will find something there if you are really interested in finding out the truth, and the truth will set you free. Jesus alone is our salvation, Jesus and His death on the cross is the only way to God as He said in John 14:6: "I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me" . He did not say "through me and my mother". Jesus is our ONLY mediator, as 1. Tim. 2:5 states: "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the Man Jesus Christ". How can you read all that and still believe that Mary is a co-mediator? I would be trembling for fear right now. Jesus said there will be a day when many will say to Him : "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your Name, cast out demons in your Name and done many wonders in your Name? And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!" Matthew 7:22. Is the Word of God meaningless to you, instead you trust what a mere man tells you, without comparing it to the Word of God? Where in the bible does it speak about praying to anyone but God? Where does it tell us that we should confess our sins to anyone but God Himself? I hope that you will start searching the bible for truth, and to recognize that Jesus is the only One who can give you salvation and a place in heaven. Please consider this!
Hi there
I just happened to read this profile and noticed that there's alot Catholic truths being put down here and I believe that as a Catholic it is my duty to defend her teachings. I'm only 15 I was raised Catholic and love God with all my heart. I will do my best to defend The Catholic Church and I in no way wish to offend anyone by anything that I may say. I also refuse to let my faith be shaken by any response that might be made. I'll start with Tomes777's comment on Catholics worshipping statues. I have lived all my life as a Catholic and I have never worshipped a statue or even seen some other Catholic worship a statue. The statues of Christ, his blessed mother, and the Saints are never worshipped they are used as reminders. What I mean by this is that Catholics place statues and images of Christ and holy people in their church's and in their homes to remind them to pray to God and to ask the saints and Our Blessed Mother to intercess to God for us. Think about this I live in a house where every wall has at least one picture of Jesus, Mary or a Saint every where I look I am reminded of God and his holy followers who now enjoy the wonders of heaven. The things help us to focus on God to remember Him through out the day and to pray to Him. Talking from experience I feel compelled to say that trying not to think about God in my house takes some reasonible effort. Also I would like to ask what Catholic told you that he or she worshipped statues. Funny how you only hear a comment like that from someone who doesn't belong to the church or is not a very strong Catholic. Any Catholic that knows the basics of his faith can tell you that no Catholic ever prays to a statue or image. We as Catholics Never and I repeat Never pray to a statue or image we use these statues and images as tools for prayer. When we pray in the presence of a statue we DO NOT PRAY TO THE STATUES we use the statue as a reminder to keep our minds focused on what we are doing. For instance ever tried to pray in a busy noisy area? no matter what anyone says it's much harder to conscentrate in those types of circumstances. Think if you had just a small prayer card with Jesus on it to look at while you pray how much easier it would be to focus and think about the wittness it would be to others around you. What do people notice. If you pray with a religious image in your hand how many people will you effect when they see that you love God enough to want to pray to Him to want to focus on Him and that you don't care what people think about you you don't care if people look twice as they walk by to see what your doing. It's not always easy to wittness but think how much easier it would be if you were praying and wittnessing at the same time. Getting back to what was said earlier. A Catholic prays BEFORE a statue or image not to a statue or image. My house is a wittnes to my faith. Any one who walks into my house has no choice but to see the images of Christ, Mary, and the Saints. My front has a Mary Statue and a Jesus statue in it nobody can drive past my house without seeing a wittness to my faith. This practice of putting statues and images in our churches and homes enriches our faith. They help us to remember to take time to pray. I sometimes have been busy working on something totally focused on what I am doing and after looking up for just a moment and seeing one of the many images around my house have stopped and taken time to pray even if it's just a short "God I really need your help to finish this" prayer. I also want to say that children who grow up surrounded by these images begin to grasp the concepts of the faith sonner. My younger brother who is 18 months old will point to a statue or picture of Jesus and being able to distinguish it from other things around the house says the name of Jesus although not sao clearly as you or I would. I just can't impress upon you enough the fact that Catholics DO NOT WORSHIP, BOW DOWN TO, PRAY TO Statues or images. These things are merely used to keep us focused on what really matters and if you don't belive me I just want to ask you one question Whose words do you believe in matters concerning the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church if you do not believe those of a Catholic himself?
I would like to mention that right know it is
2:13 A.M I should be in bed every one else in my house is asleep but to me it is more important that I defend my faith and I say this not to brag but to hopefully convince of how important my faith is to me. I would now like to adress the comments made by firedup4Christ I mean no offense when I say that I feel sorry for you. Sorry because although as you say you grew up as a Catholic that you did not experience the wonderful kind up religious upbring I had and therefore are ignorant (please do not take this as an insult I simply mean that you do not knoe these teachings and that just as you may be ignorant of these teachings I am ignorant of the teachings of the Muslims)of the teaching and truths of the church. I grew up being trained in the faith from an very early age and I thank God for that. I at my age know more than many Catholic adults do.Again I say this not to brag but because it is the truth and I am gratefuk for my knowledge of the faith. If I did not have this knowledge of my faith I would not be typing any of this right now I probably wouldn't even be on this site. But praise be to GOd I am here and feel proud to wittness for my God and His church. In response to your comments on Purgatory, The Pope, and That any church is the key to salvation I want to say that I am not even close to be the best authority on how to explain these things I ub=nderstand them but have not yet developed the skils to explain them to others and I fear that should I try to do so I might err and thus confuse a reader further But if you really want to know the answers If you really love God and want to servre him go to www.biblechristiansociety.com this site contains talks by a Catholic who using the Bible proves that the church does not err in her teachings. So if you really want to know the truth of God then go on this site download the talks and listen to them there all free. Then again if just want to call yourself a christian and say that it doesn't matter what church you belong to as long as it's not Catholic then you can just sit back and keep saying how bad the church is and keep asking why it does this or why it does that but what point is there in asking questions if you
don't really want an answer?
Go to the site the truth of God's word is nothing to fear.
May all that I do bring Him honor and glory!

The Roman Catholic Church bows down and worship the statues of Jesus and Mary. Please show me this in the Holy Word of God. Our God is in heaven, and also so our Saviour and Lord - Jesus Christ. God in heaven says in Romans 1:22-23 and Rom. 1:25-26, that men is professing to be wise, but that they actually became fools. For they changed the glory of the INCORRUPTIBLE God into an image made to look like corruptible man (were exchanged for and represented by images).
Dear ones, you have a God in heaven, and He loves you all. You do not have to fall down before imitations of your God. Worship and adore Him from within your own heart. God says in Hebrews 11, that it is IMPOSSIBLE to PLEASE HIM without FAITH. And that he that cometh to GOD, MUST BELIEVE that HE IS, and that HE is a REWARDER of them that diligently seek HIM. But even if you do not want to follow the words of Paul to obedience to Christ, listen to what our Messiah has said Himself: "Then Jesus said to him, Begone, Satan! For it has been written, You shall WORSHIP the Lord your God, and Him ALONE shall you serve." [Matthew 4:10].
I am going to close this message with the words of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ:
But when the Comforter (Holy Ghost) is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of TRUTH, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall TESTIFY of ME:
[John. 15:26]
Not Mary, but of ME.
Thank you Father God for Your Son. Your Son Jesus came to save HIS people FROM their SINS.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
Good evening, (19:10 in the RSA.)
Loved ones, please show me where in the Word of God does it stand that we must worship and adore Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ our Lord. I see that the Roman Catholic brothers and sisters even pray to her. I do agree, that she had to be very special to Father God. To choose her out of all the woman of Israel to give birth to Jesus, the Saviour of this world. She may be a saint of Father God. But Mary is not Godly nor Divine, as the Roman Catholic Church says. Is this doctrine in the Holy Scriptures? If Mary was Godly, if she is the Queen of heaven, surely Jesus her own Son would have mentioned it at least ones in the Evangelical Books. Or when Father God created the earth and heaven. If he had a Queen, surely she would have been mentioned at least ones in Genesis.
Even if you look at this video you can see that the Roman Church is so full of glorifying their saints of old. In contrast, brother Paul says that he will boast, but that only in his Lord Jesus Christ and the cross.
The Roman Catholic Church is binding innocent people with all their human inspired rules and regulations. Loved ones, Jesus came to SET US FREE! We now live, not under the Laws and Doctrines of men. But as the Holy Ghost of the Lord teaches and guides us from within to OBEY and have FELLOWSHIP with our Saviour Jesus Christ. Jesus our Lord Himself said that I will send unto you the Holy Ghost your Comforter. He will teach and convict you of your sin, of the Righteousness of God and also of Judgment.
The Roman Catholic Church send people to Confession. Please go and read the Book of Hebrews again. Especially Heb. 7:20-28 and Heb. 9:11-28.
I pray that you will cease protesting the truths that the fallen Christian world denies so that their cafeteria style shopping for churches that indirectly condone moral relativism (gay ministers, abortion, contraception which is the total mistrust of God, the created of %$$$! and life - see Theology of the Body) continue. Until you understand, and only God can give that gift to you once you seek the truth, I pray that you continue on path and examine your conscience. It is through that, that we grow more intimate with the Divine. It's not about fluffy singalongs on Sunday mornings. It's about sacrifice, selfless donation of love not individualistic salvation. We do not WORSHIP any one but God the FATHER, Jesus Christ His Son and the Holy Spirit. I do apologize for the incorrect misguidance you have used. I feel your pain, since I too was a fallen away catholic. Until I was on my knees one night and asked God to put me where I'd experience Him the fullest, an I felt the peace, contentment, joy, and rightness of following the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. I feel bad for those who rely on any pastor, with any education, who decides on his personal relevance and interpretation of whatever scripture he wants to use. Please consider understanding truth Catholicism. If you did, you'd never have left. Your fellow fired up for Christ sister.
I WAS RAISED CATHOLIC. NEVER READ ABOUT PURGATORY IN THE BIBLE.NEVER READ HOW ANY APOSTLES BAPTIZED ANY CHILDREN AT BIRTH. WHY ARE MOST OF THE REFERENCES MADE TO MEN ,,NOT CHRIST. JESUS SAID I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIGHT.NO ONE GETS TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME.... NOT THRU THE POPE, NOT THROUGH PRAYING TO MARY OR THE INNUMURABLE .SAINTS PROCLAIMED BY MAN TO BE SAINTS BY THE CATHOLIC RELIGION. IM NOT SAYING THEY WEREN'T GOOD MEN. THE POPE HAS CALLED CHRISTIANS SEPERATED BRETHREN. WOW!!! BUILDING A RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST NOT A CHURCH, ANY CHURCH ,IS THE KEY TO SALVATION ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD. IF READ YOUR BIBLE BE BORN AGAIN!!! JOHN 3:5 ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE NOT GLORIFYING A RELIGION OVER CHRIST??
