prayer watch

Posted on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 08:36AM.

Now where is it at? John looked every where but still he just couldn't remember where he left it. Usually it was his keys or his glasses he couldn't find, but this, unbelievable.

As John walked back to his bedroom he began to retrace his steps, I think I had it over here as he tossed his dirty underwear off the chest at the foot of his bed. "Nope, not there either".

John did a quick pat down, my wallet, my keys, hmmm. He walked toward the living room and gave it a fast look over. His rifle was still in its place over the mantel, so he knew no one broke in, a thief always go for the firearms, he mused. Still he couldn't help wondering if someone came in and took it. John was just about to give up when a small voice spoke up. It was so dim and faint that he could barely hear it, but he did make out "closet". Closet?. "Oh yea, why didn't I think of that first?", he wonder. Turning around he went pass the bathroom and by instinct headed toward the den.

Rounding the corner of the hall, he came to the entrance, and turned the knob. It felt cold under his touch. "The den closet is as good as any place", he half said to himself. But it really sounded like he as talking to some one else.

He flipped on the light, and started across the wooden floor, the noise from his heels soften as he crossed the area rug.

The den was a nice , his ex wife decorated it. "She did have nice taste", he thought as he headed for the closet on the opposites side. Long drapes hung under, cloth laden valences. "The curtain", he remembered her saying, "had a two fold purpose, not only do they defuse the heat that comes into the room from the afternoon sun, but they also when closed, block out the noise to make the room almost sound proof. Now they were half open, and the sun slice down like a knife upon the closet door handle.

The brass knob shined with a holy fire, and turned easily under John hand.
As the door open John peered into the darkness, and waited for his eyes to get used to the dim light.

There on the floor he saw what he was looking for. He quietly knelt down and pulled a small tin box from beneath the shadows, and as he touch it, he remembered.

This is where I put it!

With reverence he lifted the tiny lid and in it was his watch, it wasn't just a watch but his prayer watch.
John's father gave it to him and his fathers', father gave it to him. It was made out of gold, very plain and heavy to the touch. With no chain , it shined like a little sun. He held it to his ear, silence. The kind of silence that made him jerked back a little. Like it was dead or something. But that's silly he thought, it just needed a little winding. As he gently began to wind up the stem on top, he turned it over and read the inscription on it. He really didn't need to, because he knew it by heart, but it still brought comfort to him. It read, "Men always ought to pray".

The tear surprise him when it hit the back of his hand. With a quick wipe he got up,and moved out of the closet .

"What happen? ", John asked himself as he sat down on one of the matching side chairs. Oh yes, he used to come in here all the time, he would rise up early, (to early by his wife Beth observation), and pray. His father taught him as his fathers' father taught him. His dad favorite scripture was, " O God,thou art my God;early will I seek thee".

Yes, many times God would awaken me, John thought, to seek him early. Half asleep, I would stumble out of bed, grab the watch and pray.

The watch had a special feature that John loved. It chimed every hour on the hour, a soft tone that told him that a hour was up, "can you at least prayed one hour" was a anthem pass down to him. Yet with the divorce, some how it slip away.

But now, looking at the watch, He knew what to do.
John slipped out of the chair , turned and got on his knees. Pressing his face down the familiar smell of the the fabric met him as a slow breath ease out. Quieting himself, he turned towards God.

Tears filled his eyes as if he found an old friend, and the soft ticking of the watch told him it was so.

The last time

Posted on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 11:05PM.

Today in prayer the Holy Spirit spoke a word to my heart, he said there comes a time when the last time is the last time....
I remember my last time for many things in my life, times when I no longer had to struggle to become, because the Lord helped me to "become " something in that area of me life,.... the last time I drunk,

The last time I swore, the last time I .....

Do you remember your last time! When really the last time was the last time?

There is no other God like him, his rule is supreme. his ways are awesome, his love.....
who can fathom?

His grace........ sufficient

God Bless

In Him was Yes

Posted on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 06:57PM.

All the promises of God in Christ are yes.

They are not some makeshift, haphazard small talk spoken on a whim but they are effectual words with the ability to create and produce.

And the Word saids that Jesus is the promise and he is the fulfillment of all that His father has declare to us.

The differences between the promises of God and the promises of man is that God promises does not originate on earth but they come with might from above, man promises are earthly but God's promises are divine. They are birth in the atmosphere of lighting and thunderings proceeding from the throne.

These promises of God causes us to triumph in Christ, to have hope when all hope is gone, they have with in them the force to infuse us with strength, to cause us to fall down before him and worship and give thanks, to the one who liveth for ever and ever.

And there is a door open today to step out in faith to believe God more than you did yesterday, to step out of the ordinary and in to a realm of faith towards God in extreme measures.

A place in God where you really believe that all the promises of God are true, not just for other people but also for yourself, for today is the day of salvation.

Many things try to hinder the forward progress of God in your life, but not to today!!!

Rise, rise today into a new level of faith, and believe the rhema words of God prayed and spoken over you.

Believe God for the chains of doubts to be broken off your life and be apprehended and bound to the purposes of God. Hear the voice of the Lord my daughters, my sons and climb to new heights, new dimensions of consuming faith that rocks the heavens.

And knowing that all this is accomplish in Jesus Christ. For Jesus is the full measure of all the promises of his father. And this is the real truth, you can hope in him, you can trust in him,

but what ever you do, don't doubt him.

A promise kept is a beautiful thing

bow your head and start praying

the weapons of our warfare

Posted on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 05:51PM.

The Lord is holy.

And the spiritual weapons of war that he gave us are holy too.

These weapons of protection and of spiritual advancement are from a God who is a Master Strategist, and Military Commander. From a Father that did not leave us defenseless.

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, not made from man made materials, but are spiritual weapons that are made for the pulling down of strong holds, fortify demonic positions of the heart. Those arguments of the soul, by human reasoning, that have become castles.

These strongholds are both within and without, and it is by taking up a military campaign against a flesh rule life that we can advance the Kingdom of God, which is the rule of God within us.

As we liken this contest to a military service we step into a apostolic warfare and lifestyle.Which is to contend against the carnal traits of our lives, so that we will not be governed by mere human nature but by the spirit of God. And it is this human nature that we battle against, isn't it? And it is there in the soul of a man that we rely (which in it self is a interesting word / RE- LIE) on faulty opinions, arguments of the mind, reasonings, fortify opinions that keep getting stronger as we defend that belief.

When we do this the thoughts becomes full of demonic activity. Imaginations and high things began to invade that mind, and that person, man or women, actually begins to take a starch position against God and His word.

And it is all because we knew something, was taught something or experience something that has no base in the scriptures. And we start exchanging knowing God for the knowledge about God.

This is when the enemy relies on the pride fullness of our heart, and temps us to lay aside the very best that the Father has for us, righteousness, joy, and peace. How we react to the everyday challenges of our lives and keep God alive in our hearts is the trick.

So how do we keep from lashing out to others, not taking revenge in our own hands? How do we keep our family in tack after our spouse was in a adulterous affair? How do we keep our sanity when our sons and daughters are caught up in porn, or drugs use, what do we do when the enemy comes like a flood and we can't even catch our breath?.......listen to this, my friend for there is hope.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, we do not have to rely on our flesh nature to get us out of jams, but they are mighty, and can influence impossible situations, they excel in power and will cause you to bear calamities and trials with fortitude and patience, they are full of wealth and influential in destroying and pulling down strong holds.

And we wage war by casting down imaginations, mental concepts that are not base on the word of God, and every high thing that exalteh itself against the truth of God. We take authority over every loose thought and emotion and impulse and bring them into the structure of life call the Kingdom.

To rely on fixing our lives by the old way of doing things is a waste of time, we only became a enemy of the state when we do it our way. Divorce is not the answer, killing your self is not the answer, hanging someone is not the answers, The Answer is Jesus Christ and the ways of a mighty God, who have for centuries forgave men and straighten out the crooked places they have forge in their ignorance. Together we can take a stand against the false apostle, Satan the father of lies and regain our true inheritance back thought Christ. And this we will do if God permits
