I grew up in Ohio, but now live in Illinois. How did I get to here from there? I became a believer in Jesus Christ, a Christian, at the age of 5 years old. I gew up going to several churches. My family changed churches mostly due to unresolved conflict! At the point of my high school graduation, I felt God's call to join the United States Air Force. I enlisted while still a senior. I spent 6 years on active duty and 5 years in the Air National Guard. I earned a Bachelors Degree from Rockmont College (now Colorado Christian University) in Denver, Colorado and a Master of Divinity Degree from The Church of God School of Theology (now Church of God Theological Seminary) in Cleveland, Tennessee. I also earned an Associates Degree in Resource Management Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. I also have many hours of training and experience in Christian conflict resolution. After serving as a pastor for three years for a Church of God Servicemen's Center in Fulda, West Germany, I was commissioned in the United States Air Force as an officer and a Protestant Chaplain. I was a chaplain for 13 years before retiring from the military the end of 2004. My last duty station was in Illinois. We were stationed here for 3 years prior to coming back for my last tour. My wife and I decided to settle in Illinois. I have over 20 years experience in pastoring, counseling and teaching. Since retiring from the Air Force, I have been working a civil service job and finding interesting opportunities to minister to the spiritual needs of people. I am currently hosting and producing a television program on a local public access channel called "Peace Talks." In this program, I promote Biblical principles for conflict management. I have lived in various states in the USA and in Germany, Korea, Japan and Kuwait.
I have been married to my wife Sharon for almost 30 years! We have three grown children-one son and two daughters. We have a desire to travel around the world to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ on short-term missions trips. We are active members of the First Assembly of God.
A Prayer to Humbly Serve This Maundy Thursday - Your Daily Prayer - March 28
Would you let Jesus wash your feet? Isn't it hard to imagine lifting our dirty toes to the King of Kings? None of us are worthy of his care and attention; yet in Christ's perfect love, he gives us nothing less. Does your human heart struggle like mine to serve others humbly as Jesus did?
