My life began with a blessing by being adopted into a loving and caring family (@ 7 days old). My Dad was a military man and so we were a Military family, we were commonly known as a Military (Army) Brat's, and like so many other brats I was never able to set down solid roots in any one location while growing up, due to our family constantly moving to where my father was assigned by the military. One of the perks tho of my father being an officer was that he was able to take his family to almost every assignment location in country(USA) and out of the country(Europe, and Japan). It was fun and adventuresome, we (family) were able to see a lot of things that I guess others never did, but obviously we missed out on some of the cool relationship type things that others had who never moved as we did experienced. You learn to make friends quickly when you move a lot, but the early entrenched relationships that others developed who did not move as much as we did were very much causality to our way of life. Born in Oklahoma, & adopted when 7 days old. (3 other children were also later adopted into our family of 7 siblings) Moved to (1.)Germany, in 1949 lived there 3 years. Returned to USA and lived in (2.)Oregon (Salem/Dallas area) for 1 year. Next stop was Northern California (3.)(Chester / Lake Almanor) Next (4.)Daily City, Ca Next (5.)Presidio of San Francisco, Ca Next (6.)Seattle, WA Next (7.)Tokyo, Japan (Washington Heights) attended Yoyogi Elementary School Next (8.)Olympia, WA Next (9.)Ft. Lewis, WA attended DuPont Middle School Next (10.)Thompson Place, Lacy, WA Next (11.)Chester, Ca Next (12.)Cahokia, Ill (St. Louis area) attended Cahokia High School Next (13.)New Brunswick, NJ attended New Brunswick High School Next (14.)Lexington, KY attended Lafayette High School (President Kennedy was assassinated) Next (15.)El Paso, TX 1964 - 1966 Irvin High School, I fell head over heels in love with Diane Achez Graduated, and much to Diane's chagrin I joined the Army in the summer of 1966 I felt the need to be a patriot.... Joined Army, took basic in El Paso, TX - 1966 - Started AIT at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX then moved on to Ft. Polk, La. OJT as a Pole lineman.... August 1967 sent to Vietnam, flew into Bien Hoa, Assigned to 40th Signal Battalion Long Binh, sent to various assignments in Saigon, Tan Son Nhut, Chu Chi, Qui Nhon, Chu Lai, and Quang Tri, Vietnam I extended my tour in Vietnam so that I would not be reassigned to Ft. Hood, Texas... which had more problems than being in Vietnam, old time Vet's (Welcome Home Brother) will tell you Ft Hood had many problems in those days... Out of military Jan 1969 Went home to El Paso, Diane met me at the airport with my family and that was awesome... nothing else was happening in El Paso at the time, and because I was "California Dreaming" & Texas leaving, I asked Diane to come to California with me, she said no... I had the dream and was driven to go. If she wasnt going to go.. their just was nothing to stay for... have you been there (El Paso)? You know what I mean... I was a California dreamer, a hippie, it was "our generation" we had that free sex, drugs, & rock n roll thing goin on, what more was there to this life?.. so I packed up my car and headed out to California, I landed in San Pedro stayed with my brother Bob for a while, we worked for Mattel Toy Co., went to as many concerts as we could Hendrix, Canned Heat, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Credence and many more. I later moved to Orange County, worked and met Jackie, Millie, Linda and that gang, Jackie and I were married in 1969 and we moved to Huntington Beach, Ca... We were blessed with 2 Children: Jason (surfer) (best down lineman you ever saw, he ate up quarterbacks like there was a reward out for them.... there wasnt there?)& Christina,(best all time left handed first baseman in the league, all star every season, she had the most stars on her hat for the most home runs) Best all time daughter, ever!... Jackie was the perfect mother to balance out this family with a strict dad(me), she was so loving & understanding, she helped the kids to turn out awesome!.... In the early 70s I met my Saviour Jesus Christ at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, where the Jesus Freak Revival started, I worshiped at the Little Country Church & then the Tent Back in Texas at about the same time my Dad married the wonderful, beautiful & sweet Mary, and they set about merging Marys & his families, Mary also had 7 beautiful children Eddie, Mark, Joey, Billy, Dorothea, Jeannette, & Freddie. Lee, Karen, Kurt, and Bill were still living at home. By now we are eligible to be called a tribe. 14 kids whew. LOL Now back to our family in California; Jason married Lisa (talented, sweet, perfect, and bakes a mean cake) whew...what a great wedding... 3 Grandchildren now: awesome and beautiful Samira, Maddie & Savannah, (06/01/07... NEW NEWS another one on the way....and "It's a boy!") I spent the next 25 years working in and around Orange County and Los Angeles, California for various manufacturing organizations in a management capacity, and I even drove 18 wheelers - Fuel Tankers - for two years.... Sold cars another two. In the early 90's I had the pleasure of meeting my "birth family" siblings... Chuck, Jimmie, Ola May, & Don.... I missed meeting my mother as she had passed away a year earlier. I can hardly tell you what an awesome satisfying feeling that is to finally meet the people that I had always hoped would be there... "Great People" Now I have two families... What a blessing!... I owe such a great deal of gratitude and thanks to Diane (yup that Diane, she finally came to So. Cal) for finding my "birth family"..... Thanks.... and more thanks Diane Te Quero Mucho...Mi Amore always and forever! Around 15 years ago I began a new career in staffing and recruiting and focused on the placement of management, and manufacturing personnel at all levels. After I was in the business for about 10 years - Whew... I needed to take a sabbatical to recharge the ol batteries... Recruiting is stressful work and long hours. all work and no play... so I migrated up to Scappoose, Oregon for about 7 months, whew, enough of that, it's not so much that I missed the rat race, but I was just too Californiaized(Go, go, go, Sun, Sun, & more Sun), and not so much Oregonized(Laid back, rain, democratic, rain, beer drinking, rain, tree hugging liberals... most with out jobs & more rain) Ha..LOL, and came back to live in Rancho Palos Verdes with Diane, and work in Irvine as a Recruiter. After a couple more years, Diane and I didnt work out like we had hoped & split up. I took off on another one of those sabbaticals for about 7 months and went to the ultimate recharge place for me, Northern California Chester/Lake Almanor this time, fun, sun, water, golf, and solitude.. I worshiped at Calvary Chapel Westwood. Then while up north I received a call with a job offer, and returned to Work as a Sr. Management and Technical Recruiter for a Recruiting Firm in the Inland Empire (San Bernardino & Riverside, Ca) this was and is the best group of people that I have ever had the pleasure to work with. So the saga continues Recruiting (Still)
