Entre l Ascension et la Pentecote, les apotres et d autres croyants etaient occupes a interceder pour la venue du Saint-Esprit. Ils n avaient peut etre pas une idee tres claire comment cela se p#!$#erait. Leur Maitre leur avait donne 2 ordres : de precher l Evangile au monde entier ; mais d abord d attendre dans la ville de Jerusalem pour etre revetus de la puissance den haut (Luc 24/49).

Un monde perdu attendait leur predication. Mais ils se rappelaient sa Parole : Sans Moi, vous ne pouvez rien faire (Jean 15/5). Vous me rendrez temoignage avait il dit, et l Esprit de verite que Je vous enverrai de la part du Pere, Il rendra temoignage de Moi (Jean 15/26-27).
La promesse de Jesus animait leur zele et leur confiance dans leurs prieres. Jesus leur avait enseigne que le Pere donne tres volontiers l Esprit Saint a ceux qui le Lui demandent. Alors, c est pour cela qu ils priaient.

Vient alors le jour de la Pentecote Quelle journee ! L effusion de l Esprit a ete deversee sur les apotres et en un jour la proclamation de l Evangile a fait agrandir la nouvelle communaute chretienne de 3000 ames !

Dans notre evangelisation en Belgique (dans votre pays), j ai parfois l impression d etre comme un ouvrier qui cherche aà percer une muraille de beton avec une foreuse manuelle. c est dur ! Ca avance si peu et si peniblement ! Le progres est si lent. Avec une foreuse electrique par contre

Et n avons-nous pas besoin d implorer Dieu pour cette meme puissance d en haut qu ont recu les apotres ?

Prions encore et encore que l Esprit Saint soit verse sur nous, ses porte-parole modernes, afin que notre message vienne en demonstration de l Esprit et de puissance (1 Corinthiens 2/4).

Prions pour que des vies nombreuses soient puissamment converties et ajoutees aux eglises.

Prions pour que nous soyons etonnes de voir cette puissance d en haut renouveler notre ministere, agissant dans une oeuvre de reveil qui convaincra de peche ceux qui sont indifferents et les transformera en chretiens zeles pour la gloire de leur Sauveur.
