one waitress, two christians. and god shows up

only god could take something as ordinary and as simple as a dinner and Denny's, and turn it into a ministry opportunity.
My best friend and i were at a Denny's enjoying AWESOME food just after youth group tonight.
So just as we always do, we said grace before our meal. "Thank you god," i prayed wholeheartedly. "thank you for the freedom we have here. for the food we enjoy. help us not to take that for granted. thank you for everything. and most of all, thank you for giving my friend peace about joining the navy. i know he is safe in your hands."
the prayer continued for about a minute. towards the end, i noticed a little "thud" hit the table. i quickly realized it was our waitress.
she quietly waited for us to finish and then informed us [with the biggest and most joyful smile i'd seen in a long time] that it was truly refreshing to see christians saying grace in public.

i just got home from an amazing youth conference for vineyard churches across texas called "doin' the stuff". i was so blessed by the entire experience. i thank god for the worship. for the fellowship. for the opportunity to work for his kingdom. for every single young person there with me who was changed. i love them all. every single one. thank you god. for everything. |
