Texas Pastor Catches a Bird With His Bare Hands

I don't want to judge anyone, but would rather like all of us to meditate on what has happened (Phill 4v8-9). I think the pastor is a good man, loving God very much. Please read below.... I hope the pastor sees the message that God has sent him. This is a one and only event. When will anyone catch a WILD bird with bear hands again - a bird that was basically sent right into his hand? He even let it go free, so wonderful was the experience-moments before he hunted these birds! God always have the last say. I cannot help to see the message clearly. "Pastor, I would like you to let my creation have freedom and this is why I allowed this miracle to happen so that you can have 2,5 million hits on your Youtube video so that the whole world can see My heart." I hope the pastor's book will also hit those kind of sales. "Prov 12:10 The righteous regards the life of his animal, but the mercies of the wicked are cruel." If the quail(bird) does not belong to the pastor, it definitely belongs to God, and why should we not regard the life of God's animal? The sceptics will point to the follwoing verse: "Gen 9:3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything." Yes, eat until your stomach is full, .....but excessiveness is not the message. The pastor has food in his kitchen I believe. He is practicing a sport at the cost of God's creation - he is not hungry! Did God not teach us to be content with what we have? When Gods people walked around and around the mountains in the desert after there escape from Egypt, God gave them food (manna) for every day - if they kept the food for the next day, it got rotten. They had to learn to stay dependent on God. 1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain, 1Ti 6:7 for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. 1Ti 6:8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. Now, I am not innocent at all. I used to shoot birds as well - just for the fun! I repented, I am finished with that. Yes, I eat beef, food from animals - nothing wrong with that, but I am content with that what is necessary. When we compare bible verses we should rightly divide the Word of God (2Tim2v15) and keep in mind that God speaks to us according to the idol(s) in our hearts (Ezechiel 14v4). I bless the pastor and his ministry. I am sure he is a good man and love God very much. No man is perfect though. I am definitely not!

I hope none you people judging these people ever have to understand that sometimes killing food is the way we live. I lived far out many years ago and our garden and hunting provided food. Plus when there is an over abundance of birds or rabbits that type of thing, they starve or die terrible deaths, so is better to kill off some so the rest can have a better live.

Uh that wasn't addressed to animals that commandment was for humans! God fed the Israelites quall and Jesus fed thousands fish. Stop making up stuff

With this interpretation you would have to be a pacifistic vegetarian. You would have to refuse to defend your family with violence in fear of taking a life and you could eat nothing that had a face. So, is this your life style? Also not, that in Hebrew the word "kill" was "murder" and applied to human relationships. After that was written Israel attacked the promised land and took it under the Lord's guidance.

They always say one in the hand is better than two in the bush.

" Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder," Matt 19:18. The correct word is "murder", as is correctly translated in the verse quoted above. In the Hebrew, there are many words which mean "to take life". There is a word for killing in battle, a word for killing in self defense, a word for murder, and so on. The word used in the commandment is the word for murder, which is the UNLAWFUL taking of HUMAN life. God told the Israelites to KILL on many occasions. He told them to kill animals, and he told them to kill people. He did NOT contradict His own command when He did so. To quote " do no murder" as a blanket condemnation of all killing is to say that God contradicts Himself and commands His people to disobey Him. Worse, it's a deliberate twisting of Scripture to suit your own anti-biblical preferences. YOU have killed millions of times today, yourself, as your body fought off various infections.

False teachings? Like the one that says that women can be pastors?

  • 2013-05-16T23:58:24

??? He's a man of God because he caught a BIRD????

  • 2013-05-16T08:01:44

No...this is the expression, "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." This is how false teachings start:)
