His Love Never Fails

Tim Hawkins on Worship Music

  • 2014-03-25T15:18:13

It seems to me that Tim Hawkins' aims in his comedy is to say NOT to take ourselves too seriously. Self righteous Christians who only speak in Christian jargon scare away the non-Christians. That's not fulfilling the command to "go into all the world and preach the gospel". We are all sinners needing the grace of God for our salvation. Tim also highlights that we are all different and worship God in different ways. Only God knows our hearts and motives. Wish Tim would come to Australia. I'd go and see his show.

Were the psalms not written as worship by King David? They were written FOR musical instruments. David MADE musical instruments. To consider it "unholy" to incorporate musical instruments in worship is nonsensical. Regardless, I don't care if you want to sing a capella or with a full orchestra. It's the heart in the worship, not what you use to make the noise. Because, if your heart isn't in it? That's all 'worship' is. It's noise.
