Psalm 94:13 "come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song." God wants us to sing to him but it does not say what kind of music to praise him with. Some versions even say to shout a joyfull NOISE to God! It does not need to be hymes or other traditional singing. I know for a fact, being a teen, that this can and will be used to help others find or refind God. What I am desturbed by is how all of you are judging him (hawkins) when only. God himself has the right to judge where a christian's heart is. In Mathew 7:1-4 "why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?" Give me one good verse that says Tim is sinning. Read your bible for a change and help, do not critisize unless you are God.

Some of the self-righteous comments here are exactly why so many people don't like Christians, because so many of them are mean, and we do eat our own. We are not to judge, but so many think it is their job, sad!

I am not going to judge one way or another, because their is a very good possibilaty that some could find a personal relationship with Jesus our Lord & Savior, but then again their might be some that could be turned away. All I know is that we are all responsible for our own sins, & who is good or not, for Jesus said Him self in Luke 18:19, So Jesus said to him, why do you call Me good? No one is good, but one that one is GOD. NKV.

Steven I agree completly, The music itself is not sinful, its the words that go along with the music that make it sinful and the fact that God has granted Tim with the ability to put words together for music is outstanding. the problem with the church today is so many "christians" wont talk to people who are of the world. They see them as less than and sinful, and I have seen people leave the church because they had no help from anyone. Most people never remember the fact that at one time they were not christians and did there own thing. I work as a missionary with inner city youth, most of who have been in and out of jail and come from homes where no one cares, and the fact is people like tim will do more for the kingdom than most pastors will. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying all pastors are bad and I'm not saying everyone else is good, I'm just saying that the church today waits for people to come to it, rather than the church going to the people. Honestly we can argue about this stuff for ages but the pure and simple fact is we are all followers of christ and honestly none of us truly know what's going to happen, all I know is that God is love and we need to show people Gods love and after that no matter the outcome, God is the one who knows what is wrong and right.

This is great and I shared it with my husband and the Worship Band at our church.... I think Tim could come up with a worship song for the Led Zeppelin song "when the levy breaks".

I don't think this is mocking God. You know one of Tim's sayings is, "If you can't laugh at your self, laugh at other people," and he also mentions that worship pastors should use this to "freak us out." So, I think, on one hand he is making fun of Led Zeppelin, and on the other he is saying that we come into God's house looking so solemn and not really wanting to be there, using this music would really wake us up and take notice, don't you think. I am a fan of Tim Hawkins and his funny antics and if you have ever been to one of his shows I am sure you will be too, but I am a follower of Jesus Christ as I think Tim is too.
