We too had to say goodbye to our beagle. He was about 15 years old and I thought our hearts would break. Her reaction and his kindness was so touching!

Happy for her, but this would not have worked for me...... we lost our Amos, but his brother Andy is still with us, it has been 2 years+ and we all still miss Amos, but it was plain that Andy would only play with other dogs for a bit, and then go off to the places he and Amos shared, a pillow, their bed etc. so it was obvious to us that Andy did not want another "permanent" resident. I say this only because, this obviously worked for them, and God is Good, and each situation is different. Amos was nine and Andy's shadow from their beginning, why we bought 2 when we intended to buy only one, it was obvious even then that they were joined together with a special connection, and Andy is such a loving gentle boy, it was just HE could not abide having a permanent "pal". Honestly I could have and would have loved another one at the time, but saw that Andy was not on that page. Andy turned 11 this year, and still acts like a puppy even with joint meds and eye meds, and my hubby and I still think of Amos every day, but know for Andy's sake we made the right decision. Just another point of view when it regards "litter mates" and one going Over the Rainbow before the other. Blessings, Cobi
