WOW! When did God turn the "Judgement Seat" over to Harriet, Dorothy, Shelly and Cheryl, what's up with you? It's not hard to figure out why He ( I assume you mean God) has not blessed you with the gift of a lottery ticket. If you gave it as a gift and it turned out to be a winner, you would want it back! God is ALL KNOWING! Did it ever occur to any of you that God knew the goodness of their hearts, even long before they ever got the ticket, whether gifted or purchased? Did it ever occur to any of you that God may have used this couple as vessels to help this community, not even the community where they reside, with the much needed things that they could not afford? I'm sure you have heard the expression, "God works in mysterious ways"? Did it ever occur to any of you that because he knew their hearts and knew they would be faithful stewards, that he also wanted this country to see that there is still good and miracles still happen. I remind you, the same country, as my grandmother used to say, "Is going to hell in a handbasket"? We, Americans, NEED to hear about and see goodness, true christian love, miracles, blessings and giving! We definately DO NOT get nearly enough. Do any of you ladies ever just stand in your yard and look at the beauty and miracle of the sky, trees, each leaf, flowers, even the miracle of the wind? Try it, you might just have a really good day!

God does not bless the lottery tickets. The Bible says you should work for everything. In order to have a winner; you have to have a lot of losers. I know that people say that it is just $1.00. Do you know how many Bibles or tracts you can buy with just a $1.00. When you play the lottery; you are hoping to get something for nothing. You also are telling the Lord that you are not trusting Him with all your needs. The Lord owns everything! If He wants you to have it; He is able to give it to you. He does not need our help.

I love the story of the little boy who prayed faithfully for one full year for God to give him a bike. He was sure that God would grant his prayers...but when he realized God wasn't going to give him anything, he went out got a job and earned $ to buy one!' But his lazy neighbor scoffed and laughed at him for working so heard, no time to play like he had...his friend asked him how he came about getting such anice bike... He said he stole the bike, then simply asked God to forgive him!... but it doesn't work that way in the real world... maybe these folks can ask God forgive them for gambling and use the money to continue reaching out and blessing others....wonder how many peoples lives were changed for the better because of their winnings.....perhaps able to buy much needed medical equipment and, basic needs for those in needs....these folks are truly blessing others with their winnings, not out spending on self like most people will/would do....and maybe they didn't buy any tickets, were given as a gift....if thats the case, then I'd be one heck of an Indian giver! ask for the ticket back! LoL!

Guess God doesn't know what HE IS is talking about or demonstrates in scripture.Man always thinks for GOD and thinks he knows better than God.

I agree with you; it's about stewardship.

Why can't we have more stories like this in our news. This is a positive story that impacts a lot of people. God Bless this couple who has not let the money go to their heads, but instead has chosen to stay humble.

You cannot pick and choose which of God`s laws you obey.A law is a law. That is a big problem with people today, they want to decide which ones to follow, not what God says.

With all due respect Harriet, (I say this not knowing how that winning ticket got into that families' hands either), many times lottery tickets are given out at Christmas time, birthdays, etc., from co-workers, friends, as gifts? I personally see no problem with buying a ticket, especially when God knows your' heart, and HE alone is qualified to judge our' hearts. HE knew, unlike SO MANY OTHERS, who fail miserably when it comes to 'prosperity', that these folks would not. I tip my cap to them, and I'd be willing to wager their church will also reap a portion of their winnings, which will be used to in some way, lift up Jesus Christ. There is a big difference in buying a 'super lotto' ticket, and spending all the 'bill money' at some casino or horse/dog track, and not feeding your' family properly. God works in ways that we do not always understand. I believe this is a matter between those folks, and their God.
