Wow, all has come true after 47 years. As close to a prophecy as I have ever heard!

It's totally up to us! II Chronicles 7:14. 'If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." This Word clearly says "My" people and "their" wicked ways, etc..

If I were God, I would stand up for this by getting people to turn back to me and renounce all these ways. We've got to get right with God, yours truly included!

I anticipate this comment won't be very well received, but I would ask that you give it consideration anyway. The downward spiral, the lack of morality that Christianity gets so upset about is the fruit of something, is it not? The one who is untrained in the word of righteousness, meaning a true understanding of what now makes a person righteous, wants to use that which was done away with, nailed to the tree (the law) to correct the immoral behavior of others. It didn't work in the old testament; God beat up on the Israelites until He settled His own anger and wrath towards them, and everyone else, through His own sacrifice. However, Christians want to use what God used to find other people guilty, not even knowing that God isn't in that business anymore. Now let's see...what's happened in our country over the last 50-60 years? Have laws increased or decreased? Hmmm? What does Paul say the strength of sin is? You should look it up yourself, but it's God's law. Trying to keep God's law not only reveals but strengthens the power of sin. Why is this? Because anytime you try to do anything to justify yourself before God, it will be used against you to prove there is no justification outside of the work of Jesus Christ. But even on a deeper level then that, do we have the vision to see that Christianity's judgment on the immorality of others is actually the seed which has brought immorality to Christianity, and caused those who don't believe to see the hypocrisy of what has been preached from the Christian pulpit? Further, because of the clear hypocrisy, any message that comes from Christianity loses all credibility. And you know what, thank God it doesn't have credibility, because the message that has created the problem is still the same message. It's the same old religious message that's been preached since time began. At the heart of it, it says who's included and who's not. I'm sorry folks, but turning back to God isn't the answer, correcting people with a moral law that was nailed to the cross is not the answer. Inciting will worship (the worship of our own wills toward God) is not the answer. The answer is in the power of God, the gospel of Jesus Christ. This message has nothing to do with people turning back to God. If it did, would Jesus have had come to redeem us? The Israelites went through cycles of turning from and turning to God, and it never worked. God saw that the only thing that would work was a one party covenant. He knew man could not keep up his end of the bargain. We find rest, joy, peace, and love when we know what God has done for us; judgment of other ceases, forgiveness is effortless, overlooking a fault is the norm, helping instead of complaining and enduring with the weaknesses of others is clearly the way to live. The Christian cycle which is actually opposed to the message of the gospel is so clear and so evident. While we're doing well (keeping the commands and doing good works) we feel good about ourselves but secretly judge or condemn others. We're able to do this until we fail to uphold some law or rule we value. When we do fail ( if our consciences haven't been completely seared by our own hypocrisy) we actually then come back to the gospel. Our hearts soften towards ourselves and others and we don't feel so self important. But after this humbling period, the leaven of the Pharisees sneaks right back in, and we resolve we will do it better next time. Ahhh yes, the good old hamster wheel of Christianity. The comments regarding the insertion of self into the relational equation with God are evidence of this mindset. The gospel is a report, it is good news. It is not an invitation for the individual to do anything. It is a report about what God has done for mankind. News is something that has happened, something that has been completed. The messenger heralds the news that God has made his home with men, that you have been reconciled to God (while you were a "sinner"). Until the gospel is preached rightly, Christianity will be the problem, not the solution. The devil indeed is crafty, but remember how he deceived the first Adam. He first caused him to question his identity by saying "If you want to be like God" (Adam was already created in the image of God) then he gave him something "to do" to strive to get there, to prove himself; enter self-righteousness, the only thing that separates the mind and heart from knowing it's true identity is oneness with God. It doesn't change the reality of the oneness we have, but we will not experience the salvation we need unless we repent (change the way we think). That fruit, the eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil which, by the way, creates judgment towards ourselves and others is as alive and well in Christianity as it ever was. Thank God for Jesus Christ! He did not succomb to the same temptation as the first Adam. When the devil tried to get him to prove who he was, Jesus flatly said no, I won't do it. In effect, saying, "I know who I am, I don't have to prove anything to you". Remember how Jesus was tempted in the wilderness? "If you are the son of God, do this". Interesting that the devil didn't tempt him with sex, drugs and rock n' roll, the things Christians think are so horrible and causing the problems in our country. Yes, he's so crafty that the majority of Christianity can't see that immorality isn't the problem, the heavy yoke of law based thinking and self-righteousness is. As long as the devil can perpetuate separation, fear, and judgment, the evils in this world will exist. Funny, that the weapon which is formed against us (God's law) is the very thing the devil uses to accomplish his purpose. He comes as a messenger of light, using the thing that God purposed to use to bring us to Christ. In that we establish ourselves or judge others according to that which God did away with, we still don't want to acknowledge what God has done in the body of His son. Self-righteousness is the root of all the evils in this world, inside and outside of Christianity, and there's only one solution. That each person on the face of earth would hear and know that God, through the body of Jesus Christ not only forgave them, but reconciled and perfected them outside of anything they could ever do to be worthy to receive it. We have no righteousness to prove any longer, we now have a righteousness that is not our own. Human beings are just big projectors of how we really feel about ourselves. If we love ourselves because we know of the great love that is resident within us, we would love others. Why don't we know, because we're still trying to do something to get some place we already are. IT IS FINISHED!

Wow, 1965, Really? Paul Harvey could then see the changes which have come to pass. We see so many "New Atheists" attacking the very founddation and beliefs of Christianity, as well as the "lukewarmers," who choose NOT to take a firm stand on those Controversial Issues. We must strengthen and arm ourselves with the Word of Allmighty God, and keep our line drawn in the sand. And we shall not cross.

These are the days we live in today! Ask God to protect you and forgive you for allowing the Devil to control you - the days of reckoning are fast approaching and the Devil wants YOU to join him!

Wow Paul Harvey being very prophetic in 1965 he described our current world... 47 years ago. Where will our nation be in another 47 years? I fear God and Jesus will be nowhere to be found and we are on a slippery slope that we will not be able to get back up if we don't wake up soon! I thank God for Our Youth Leaders I do see hope in the young people they mentor... but they need help from a lot more people it is an important job it is the only way we will ever be able to turn this around. So get out there... Set an example be a leader it is not that hard to be a friend a mentor and leader build some relationships have some fun we can fix this but it is going to take an effort by everyone of us. And I want to thank all of you who are Youth leaders and are going to be youth leaders for what you are doing GODS PEACE TO YOU ALL.

Mankind always wants his own way. God loves us and wants us to be in Heaven with him for eternity. Jesus died on Calvary to give us forgiveness of our sins. God does love us and he gives us the freedom of our own choice. Please accept Jesus into your hearts and live for and love God and let Heaven be your home eternal.
