For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son! That whoever believes in Him shall have life & have it more abundantly. A life filled w/ peace & joy from within their heart. An unconditional love that is hgher than any human, worldly love.

As I listened to each speaker during her funeral service, I realized that she had a heart for God and acknowledged Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Isaw her as having made a comeback professionally (her new movie) and as making a spiritual comeback as well.God must have had really big plans for her, considering what the enemy did. I see nothing false in this video. The video of her trying to sing Jesus Loves me onstage at Kelly Price's party may be disturbing or even disgusting to some. But, out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Regardless of what her state may have been at that time, I believe something rose up from within her heart and she declared His love for her. Now, her struggles are over. No more "robe of flesh". No more temptations or setbacks. And, NO MORE DEVIL! She's free. RIP, Whitney.

When I see her sing of Jesus' love it gives me hope for so many that struggle to find His love through their struggles in this world--she struggled with so much but I do believe she knew Jesus and wanted so much to serve Him but the world just kept tugging at her and dragged her down--but I believe she is with Jesus and is at peace. What a gift she had to share with us all! We will miss that beautiful voice singing of HIS love for us all.

Whitney; despite her "demons" as they say,,, was a wonderful person and should be remembered for the good she did with her musical talents. Rodney Patterson

Deborah, by the word performance I would not imply it as a prerequisite to salvation. We both agree it seems, that Christians are saved by faith not of any works (Ephesians 2:8; Titus 3:5). I was mainly addressing your initial comment regarding the now deceased Whitney Houston. The words in your initial post struck me as inappropriately judgmental. Go back and read it. We are saved to do good works according to Eph Chap 2 as we "perform" God's will. This is related to The Holy Spirit at work in us. "For it is God who works in you both to work and do for His good pleasure" Phil 2:13. The references to performance are numerous in biblical scripture but as a testimony of God at work in us. We are to run a good race see Hebrews 12:1, Corinthians 9:24, Phip 2:16. These all use the analogy of running a race with our best effort. In that sense performance has it's place in a Christian's life as a testimony of God at work in us.
