Those who beleive in Jesus Christ are the chosen people. We chose to Believe and follow God. Therefore Believers in Jesus are the chosen ones. The ones who don't' believe will perish. You are either for God or against Him but you can't be both or wish washy. To be for Him is to believe in Jesus Christ.

"That old covenant is obsolete". If he's referring to the Abrahamic covenant then, and there's no nice way to say this, he's wrong. The language of Genesis is not easy, but it does show that the Abrahamic covenant, regarding his seed and their inheritance of the land, was UNCONDITIONAL. It was dependent purely on GOD'S INTEGRITY, not Israel's subsequent behaviour. That covenant can only be "obsolete" if God has no integrity. Our salvation is also real, unconditional and dependent entirely upon God's integrity. That integrity is proven by the Abrahamic covenant. Thank God that we have Jewish people today, and the land of Israel. It proves God's integrity.

By God's Own oath He entered into a Covenant with only one Land Mass on earth. The City Jerusalem. - Ez.16:8 Although God is married to Israel. He did give Israel a Certificate of Divorce Away From Him, because Israel played The Harlot. - Jer.3:6-8,14.

Doug I agree with you, When you read the book of Romans and all of Paul's Books its seems hard to believe that God does not have a future plan for His chosen people.

Hard for me to understand Romans 9-11 in this way. Seems to me the physical descendants of Abraham have a special future chapter in the plan of God.
