How self righteous of you to judge others comments.

Nancy, I could not agree with you more, it is about taking all the hatred out of the world and everybody living in peace as one, I think this is what God would have wanted for us, all these people who claim to be Christians are really quick to judge.

Billy, I just got off the phone so thanks for calling me back to discuss you're perception of my comments and agenda. I was pleasantly surprised at how through one call we found how much we are in agreement. See you in glory and as others have said, let's pray that Emmanual and his family will come to the knowledge of Christ. Both truth without love and love without truth are in vain.

Yes, Nancy... exactly!

This song is about EVERYONE coming together and living life in PEACE! I don't believe it is a shun to God at all. Do you think John Lennon believed in people having no possessions? No, but those words too are part of the lyrics. Nothing to kill or die for is the outcome. It's about people accepting everyone and their differences. Unfortunately, people get caught up in religion and possessions, in addition to a myriad of other things, they have disagreements about what is right and what is wrong. This is about acceptance of people's differences. We need to be able to see past the differences in everything and accept, accept, accept, not hate, hate hate. God created us all and I can't begin to believe that He would approve of how things are today. Look at us! There is so much hatred in the world. Look at how this young man has turned what started out as a horrible manner of living into one that is so awesomely impressive, in spite of his difficult beginnings. Could I have turned out as well? I'm not sure that I could have. Embrace this young man and his rendition of John Lennon's message. It isn't anti-God - it is about PEACE and ACCEPTANCE.

Billy, since my objective may not be understood in a potential debate on here, I'll just give you a call at your realty business. but for the benefit of others, notice my profile picture. This was taken on one of many trips into Haiti.

Billy, you make some good points, but there are a few things I wish you had thought through before you posted: 1. Your 4th and 5th sentences say, "This is one of the main reasons people think Christians are annoying and obnoxious. People are complaining about the song this guy sang." The world doesn't need you to speak up for and defend them. I would argue that this is obnoxious to me - Christians telling other Christians why people think Christians are annoying...and on the internet to beat it all. 2. "I agree that the song is Godless and it is a song about atheism but going there on this video is just like what Jesus said-'You strain at a gnat and swallow a camel'." Don't forget what Jesus also said right before that statement, "These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone." He's speaking of the weightier matters: justice, mercy, and faith, but He didn't say, "Quit doing what you're doing and focus on these..." It was more about what the Pharisees weren't doing than what they were doing (i.e.-their tithing wasn't bad, they were doing the right thing in that, but it was just that they thought it outweighed their neglect of those weightier matters). This Scripture could work for the argument you're making, but not in the way you've done it. In other words, focusing "on the greater things instead of silly and petty stuff" isn't the answer...focusing on the greater things at the same time as the "petty stuff" (in this case, true statements of a song that is anything but glorifying to God) would be more like what Jesus was referring to. 3. "This video is full of true Christianity." I think a better statement would have been, "This video has semblances of true Christianity." I didn't hear Jesus mentioned one time. Without Jesus, there is no 'true' Christianity, even if we fight all the injustices in the world but leave out Jesus, it isn't Christianity. I'm glad you mentioned the things you did and this is in no way meant to come off as rude or arrogant, but more like 'iron sharpening iron'. That being said, feel free to sharpen me because I'm definitely not claiming to know it all. And Bel, that could be one of the most un-Christ-like viewpoints in the world today.
