You are so right AND also SO wrong: listen to THE WORD ministering through "the Joyful noise" Commanded in Scripture and wake up to hear His Word ! ...

Robert Roop please then do not sing most hymns, advent, thanksgiving, or resurrection celebration songs as most melodies and tunes were written by atheists, deists, agnostics, and others whose original purpose for their music was not with the intent of praising God. Please do not bless people when they sneeze as this was originally a pagan practice. Please do not honor women by opening the door for them or be courteous to them in anyway as this is a hail to the Goddess. And whatever you do, do not quote the Bible for even the Demons know chapter and verse in all translations including the original in context.

Robert Roop Yes, we, Christians live in the world but we're not of this world. I have not doubt that what you said is in the Bible but there is much more that says we are to love the lost. By taking something "of the world to praise with" we are more apt to reach the world and let them listen to how GREAT our Savior is. They, the world needs hope. It needs Christ. I can take anything and turn it to praise our Lord. Many mighty men and women did it in the Bible!

Paul noted in Acts 17 that the people of Athens were very religious. He noticed a pagan altar andn used it to make a point about the God we serve being the "unknown God" they worshipped without knowledge of who he really was - he used this as a bridge to build understanding with the audience he was speaking to.He even quoted a heathen poet regarding us being God's offspring - again to build a bridge so they would understand. The same may be said of any genre of music being used to proclaim Christ and share our testimony. I have heard that there are well beloved hymns that began as drinking songs, before the lyrics were changed to glorify God.

God has given people talent, the enemy uses it for his good. Why not take it back and use it for the Lord's glory.......
