Lynn Jordan You are definitely correct with the Bible quotations. What you might not be right with is the individual circumstances and how God Himself works through those circumstances. One can only look through a narrow hole with only one of the two eyes! Not with both.

Andrew Martin I thank God for your spirit. You truly are brand new creation in Christ Jesus, willing to learn and open to correction. I learned a long time ago not to point an accusing finger at anybody cos the remaining 4 are directed to me - directly or indirectly. I also know through Jesus' and Peter's conversation concerning John, cf. John 21: 20-24, that I have to mind my own business working out my own salvation and not another persons'. God bless your new relationship with Him and with your wife. You also have made your past a learning curve to help others make it right. You are blessing.

it also say's all cannot accept this saying but only those to whom it has been given 10 In the house His disciples also asked Him again about the same matter. 11 So He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. 12 And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.” this is Mark 10:11-12

Lynn Jordan you tell it like it is girl you are 100% right and that is exactly what it says The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?” 4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made[a]them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’[b] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?[c] 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” 7 They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?” 8 He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. 9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality,[d] and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.” 10 His disciples said to Him, “If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is better not to marry.”

for this instance i think of 2 corinthians 5;17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun

i would like to add that the Grace and Love of God covers a multitude of sins! I also have been divorced (twice). The law was in place to show us our sinful nature not to redeem us. That is what the blood of Jesus is for. May His Grace abound in all our lives!

Hi Andrew, We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD!!!! For this reason we need Jesus! There is nothing that we can do to enter into heaven such as good works (helping the poor, hungry, orphaned, widowed etc) although it is a good thing to do because we are the hands and feet of Jesus it is not by works that we are saved but by faith. Grace takes a huge part in this as well because we do not deserve to be saved but because God sent his one and only son to die for our sins we are forgiven. Grace is completely undeserved we can be the nicest, sweetest, more generous, helpful, person in the entire world but if we do not receive the free gift of grace of God we are NOT saved!!! Grace is a gift from God that cannot be earned! It is 100% free. Please please please ask God for discernment, wisdom and knowledge as to whom you should speak to about this. If I were you I would speak with my pastor I would be careful with people like Lynn. She was NOT speaking out of love but out of a spirit of legalism!!!! If you have accepted Jesus into your heart and have truly meant it and if you have received the free gift of grace then you are saved because it is by faith that we are saved and it is by grace that we receive the gift of salvation. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in all that you do! The Holy Spirit WILL convict you of sin...once again I would be careful what I post this is not necessarily the most reliable place to find answers to questions such as these!!!! Ask you pastor and go from there. God Bless!!!

I have now seen that I have opened a huge "can of worms" here. I just hope that others reading this will receive some help from this discussion. I was told today that when a person points a finger at another that there is three of their own fingers pointing back at them. We did have a sermon recently about what being saved meant. Correct me if you disagree. The only thing you need to do to get into Heaven is to accept Jesus Christ as your savior and to repent you sins and ask for forgiveness. All of our sins are forgiven because of the One that died for us. The mistakes I made are forgiven even if it was violating a commandment. I am trying to live a good life and do God's work that He would have me do. I believe that I have been forgiven and that there is nothing else I need to get the eternal life. I have committed a lot of sins in my life and I would liek to say that I will never commit another, but that would be a lie. There has been only one sinless person on this planet and I come no where close to Him. I am but a man, I strive to be a good man and I will continue to do so. I do appreciate all the comments and the emails I have received. I have read all of them and considered where they may fall. I am very comfortable in my relationship with Christ and I have no regrets about the way I am living my life. Yes, there is many things I would change if I were to do it over again BUT those things in my past have made me who I am today and I like me. May God bless each and everyone of you.
