Do Christians today have to obey the Old Testament laws?-David Murray

"Thus says Yahweh, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, who divides the sea when the waves thereof roar; Yahweh of Hosts is His Name: 'If those ordinances depart from before me,' says Yahweh, 'the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever.' Thus says Yahweh: 'If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done,' says Yahweh." Jeremiah 31:35-37. Israel is still a nation with a purpose before the Almighty (I'm not talking about the pretenders living in Israel's former land, either). Therefore, those Laws pertaining to the judicial system (Criminal and Civil) are still valid today as well. Those Laws are perfect, and if obeyed today would bring us such prosperity as the world has not seen in over 2000 years!
