You might want to check those figures Mr. Martin. I don't think the Catholic church is the largest church in the world these days at all. It was back in my day but, no longer.

Catholicism is not a religion. With that one statement you have confirmed that anti-Catholic prejudice is alive and well. As to courtesy, I believe that I was - and continue to be - more gentle than you.

You should be sorry and you are. This is mostly a matter of semantics and that you cannot stay on topic. Catholicism is not a religion so it cannot be the largest, so it is the largest group of something that however many there are do not agree on some basics, and answer the question, what does the number of adherents have to do with the validity of an argument or position? Even though there were two sources cited you chose to invalidate an argument based on the bias of one when both said the same thing. The actual case is that due to your failure to use the word religion properly your original statement was incorrect. Now how judgemental. It seems I am less so than you. There is a long history of bigotry and persecution against many groups. So asking why you worship Mary now rises to the level of persecution? You were not accused of anything by me. You were asked a few questions which you didn't bother to answer. Instead you brought an unrelated issue in as a response. Let's get back to disparagement. Your original statement spoke to a current or recent situation not the history of anything. It is a long way from disparagement to persecution. I agree with your view of history. However it is just that and in the United States of America in current times the answering statement more truly reflects the situation. Next even though you haven't documented your Kennedy statement you are entitled to your opinion. You just are not entitled to having it go unchallenged or stating something based on something that doesn't exist. Finally hatred really isn't a sin. Glad you cleared that up. I'm so glad at least your denomination is courteous.

anne, I thought of your tuba player when I saw this! Pam, being part of one, or being where a flash mob was taking place...one of the perks of living in a big city? I would LOVE it
