People ARE more important than the dishes, and God does want us to have a good relationship with our kids, but I think that we are missing the mark when we totally exclude one area of life from the other. Consider for a moment the mother's simple request and trust of her husband, to assume a fraction of the responsibility of caring for the child and the home. In my eyes, the father could have showed love for his daughter and his wife, by taking 10 minutes to do the dishes all the while encouraging and teaching his daughter to help (while she was sucking or chewing on her vitamins), and then give her a 10 minute bath in which he could still be talking and loving her and having a fun relationship with her.) Twenty minutes and the responsibilities could have been accomplished, which would teach the daughter a good and Godly work ethic (those that do not work, should not eat), honour his wife (he gave her no indication that he was not going to do these things - so in her mind, there was a presumption that they were going to be done....and they were not selfish requests....2 of them were for the health and welfare of their child!) and there would have still been enough time left to play! I think it sends the wrong message to men and to women to say that it's ok if you are not being responsible, as long as you are bonding and showing love to your kids. Playing with the kids is great, but fathers need to teach responsibility to their children as well and to honour their wives. I don't think we should drop the ball in one area to fulfill another. That's were we need to depend on the Lord for wisdom and strength to do what is right in every scenario of life. I think we reduce the power of God, when we assume that our husbands, and the fathers of our kids can only do one of these at a time, and it's ok to do just the fun stuff with the kids. I think in the scenario of this video, the father had a chance to do both, and missed the mark.

"Wherever you are, be all there. Live to the hilt every moment you believe to be the will of God." - Jim Elliot. This certainly applies to time with our precious kids... Thanx for doing and posting this vid.

Caesar David Joel. A tribute to all Dads out there, even those who may feel like you don't deserve the respect of your loved ones because of past mistakes or failures, may we all lift our hands and look to the Greatest Dad in the whole universe, our Heavenly Father God, and take this time to recieve His love, grace and mercy to love and protect our wives and children. And as we celebrate Father's Day may we celebrate Him above all else. may we find rest in His love to contunue the great call He has placed before us. May we ran with patience the race set before us. Happy Father's Day to you all Men of Destiny.

I thank God for my son and the attachment we had. It seems like where ever Dad was he was there too. Now he is fine young man showing the worth of our closeness. You can never love your children too much even in the middle of night when he is calling for Dad to be near him. God Bless all the Dads and don't forget the Moms!

the most blessed Mom/wife, is the one who knows well enough to appreciate & thank God for a man who loves God, a good spouse, a good "Dad"..then the blessing from God, of a good Dad, is that it gives us insight to how blessed we are to get a small "glimpse" of our "Heavenly Father"...isn't the Lord wonderful? Happy early Father's Day to all of you Dad's who demonstrate our Papa in heaven..
