I agree with Pastor Eric that Christians should get involved in politics on issues that clearly goes against the Word of God.

Yes, of course. What's a democracy for? It's a sin not to use all available powers to protect defenseless victims(unborn humans set for destruction or abortion) and to attempt to halt perversion and immorality in the society. We should not get carried away by politics and the power games but Christians definitely should battle for the installment of Biblical morality. All other issues are nothing comparing to it. What's the use of getting a job or health care if the society gets set for imminent destruction because of grave sins? Christians should constantly monitor the sins and victims in the given society. The era we could entertain ourselves with petty issues is over. In Sodom, politics becomes a life-or-death matter. Christians MUST be involved in politics with a proper Christian focus.

The reality of being engaged is, far more than 'only prayer', but also a 'solution, action, etc... to pray about'!! This gets me all the time and why I feel Politics and Religion should be less intertwined than they currently seem to be!?!

Very well stated, James 2:22 explores the balance well.

We as Christians have the right of freedom of speech. I am an evangelist. What if I stopped leading souls to Christ for fear of making an Atheist angry? Ifwe vote to choose the right candidate and a controversial bill comes up before congress than I should call my Congressman or congresswoman to have him represent me the people. That goes for left or right. But the sleeping Giant must wake up and the preachers should confirm this in the pulpit. Not who to vote for , they should know. But to make a joyful noise.

I can no longer vote. Were the person for whom I voted sin or do evil with my enabling him/her (and the others who did likewise) into office, then I am part responsible for it. I am under conviction about this. I do not say all must believe as I do but when the Spirit speaks to me on subjects, I listen. He may not have spoken to you about this as He has done me.

It is too easy to disengage from the conflicts of life by hiding behind a cowardly "prayer only" position.
