Jack speaking: "Well said Bob! As far as I am concerned it's all political correctness. Most congregations reflect the demographics of the neighborhood. Pastors who are so consumed with diversity need to understand THAT, first and foremost. The second factor is that culture often times dictates a preferred style of worship and a preferred doctrine. I worshipped with black brothers for two and a half years! Their culture likes a pastor who engages the congreagation with passsion and they also want to hear the whole truth of God's Word, not just the easy feel good truth. It is, what it is. People prefer to worship where they are comfortable and a place that is close to home."

It seems to me that when diversity is spoken of many people automatically assume the problem is white racism. My community is mostly white so our church is mostly white however people of all races are welcome and do attend admitedly in small numbers. Not far from my church are predominatly Black churches which are mostly black as a result of the mostly black community that surrounds them. I suspect no one has ever lost sleep at these churches due to the lack of white faces in their church. Maybe we should worry less about pefect checkerboard pews and just encourage more people to worship wherever they are most comfortable. the real problem is most churches are losing members of all colors and we are turning away from our religious founding beliefs and becoming increasingly secular as a country.

We attend Sanctuary Covenant Church in Mpls. and it is intentionally multi racial... it is such a blessing to also work at MN teen challenge which also in intentionally multi racial... heaven will be every tribe and tongue and nation so should it be on earth... this is so import.... break down the walls and love and befriend ea other.... there is so more more power when there is unity and love flowing and servant hearts among all races... This is not at all "crap,"( We as the Church are just encouraged to be fairer than the world) but I agree with you in your point. I don't like the West's multiculturalism. We need some dominant moral culture, not this garbage mashing. I'm really afraid they may be as lazy as any country's embassies making unnecessary national holidays celebrating the people and things that don't matter when the kids are already sick lazy and pleasure-soaked. I don't like it when Americans say "Happy Chinese New Year!" to me in the season which I care not a bit. If they talk about what year of animal this year is, I get tempted to categorize them as idiots and become wanting to ask them if they know how many American soldiers have died in WW2.

Nothing but babbling crap. Go get on a street corner of your choice and witness to a lost sinner. Its too many problems in our society to be wasting time talking about church ratios. We all have the right to worship were we please. People are dying at the hospital everyday without Christ go out there and pray for the sick, at the end of the day God is calling for holiness. Having your membership at a multi- cultural doesn't make you holy. Why can't the preachers just preach the gospel and stop being concerned whether or not you have a diverse church. If I live far north in my city, I am not going to travel far south and join a church just to say my church is a rainbow diversified church. JUST STAY FOCUSED ON THE MAIN THINGS!

Yes, if the local church has the same faith, same sound doctrines, same strong love and hunger for holiness, same Christian discipline for healthy growth, and the same godly purpose, no matter how the outlook becomes, the Church will be true and beautiful in unity and harmony. We have a lot of obstacles on earth in becoming what Jesus want us to be, but we can always remember what is the most important by abiding in His Word and being guided by His Spirit and keep coming back to it. Keep doing it till He comes back to us.

Yes, being natural is important. Forcing churches to be multi-cultural un-naturally will be another strain upon people. If the congregation is educated to be loving to all, the church is healthy. Is there racism still in USA? I'm Asian; I'm really concerned about the well-being of the conservative Christian whites being ridiculed and persecuted by the liberal whites. Traits of racism will endure as long as people are comfortable with their own kinds everywhere in the world; it's time the colored Christians should speak against the liberals in the West. We had more than enough assistance from the white Christian missionaries for centuries till now.

WE MUST EACH START IN OURSELVES. WE MUST REALIZE THAT HEAVEN IS NOT SEGREGATED. JESUS DIED FOR ALL, AND ALL WERE CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD. OUR LIFE ON EARTH IS PREPARATION TO SPEND ETURNITY WITH GOD AND ALL WHO WORSHIP HIM. I AM 60 YEARS OLD, I HAVE ALWAYS LIVED IN GEORGIA. I GREW UP WATCHING PREDIJUSICE PEOPLE. THE WORST PLACE I HAVE SEEN IT, IS IN CHURCHES. I HAVE SEVERAL RACES IN MY FAMILY TREE, MOSTLY CHEROKEE. I AND BOTH MY CHILDREN MARRIED HISPANICS. MY DAUGHTER'S FAMILY AND I ATTEND A PERDOMIANTLY (NON-DENOMINATIONAL) BLACK CHURCH. COMING FROM BAPTIST AND SPANISH CHURCHES. IT IS REFRESHING FOR ME TO BE IN AN ENGLISH CHURCH WHERE THE SPIRIT IS ALLOWED TO FLOW FREELY. MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME TO LOOK BEYOND A PERSONS SKIN. BOTH HER GRANDMOTHERS WERE BLACK DUTCH. ONE LOOKED INDIAN AND THE OTHER AFRICAN AMERICAN. MAMA WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO USE SLANG NAMES FOR PEOPLE. I TAUGHT MY CHILDREN TO LOVE OTHER RACES AS WELL. RACISIUM IS A POISON, AN EVIL DEMONIC SPIRIT, THAT TRUE CHRISTIANS MUST FIGHT AGAINST. IN THE YEAR THAT I HAVE BEEN IN MY CHURCH I HAVE REALLY COME TO LOVE MY BISHOP AND WANT TO FORM LONGLASTING PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH MANY OF THE PEOPLE I WORSHIP WITH EACH WEEK. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED ALL CHILDREN, AND WORKED IN PRESCHOOL. HOWEVER, TEACHING SUNDAY SCHOOL IS THE MOST REWARDING JOB I HAVE EVER LOVED.
