Facebook do you present the gospel to a stranger?-Michael Horton

We are living in a pluralistic world in which many opinions compete for attention. Spiritually, many world-opinions state the belief that people are naturally good and all-right, that we just don't realize it. We have to work hard to set the matter right. Only God's Message stands in stark contrast, first through the Jews and then through the Christians: we are not naturally good, we are not all-right. We are evil and selfish when left to our own devices ultimately, as shown in example in a British book from the 1970's, Lord of the Flies. How can we relate this to a stranger, which thinking of human neediness most people today would find repulsive? First, we must pray to God that He will send us to people who need to hear His Message, and that He will prepare our hearts and minds to deliver His Message and that He will prepare people's hearts and minds to receive His Message. If His Works do not precede our works, then our work in in vain. Secondly, how do we deliver His Message? If not in love and consideration, then it will truly fall on deaf ears. Look at Jesus' witness to the Samaritan woman at the well at Sychar. He started by asking for a drink of water, talked to her and answered her questions directly, and then delivered His Message of her need for Salvation and His Ability to save her. It worked. If we engage people in every-day conversation, under God's Control, we just might get people to realize that they need help presently and for eternity and that only God through Christ Jesus can give them the help they need. I think a lot of lost people really sense, somehow, that they need help, but we as God's people have been too timid to go out and deliver His Message. Let us pray that The Father may do as Jesus urged, to thrust out workers into the field that is the world of the lost and reap a harvest of souls that are lost, but can be found and saved for now and for eternity. Through Jesus working through us, we can do this. I know we can. God knows we can.
