Love this, for many of us however homeschooling is part of the wobbly, shaky, depending on God routine we do every day:)

God puts us in different situations and life experiences for a reason. Maybe you impacted someone by being at home during your schooling. Or maybe later in life you will see why you were raised the way you were. All I know is that God meets you where you are at. He uses you in every way. To say one way would be better than another is just a point of view not necessarily right or wrong. Everyone is used differently and only God knows why we experience what we do. I personally don't think we will fully understand his plan until we get to heaven and meet him face to face. However, be joyful in all you do and you know God is with you at all times. Then and only then will you experience the True joy of life.

Well first I have to say that I have never and will never be disrespectful to my family or anyone that God has put in authority over me. I'm sorry that you saw what I said as disrespect. I believe that God will use you as a witness anywhere you go in everything you do. For example when I walk down the street I want people to just look at me and think "he's different. why?". What I was saying was that if I went to public school then I would have been around many more kids daily then me being at home by myself when I was homeschooled. More people around me = more witnessing opportunities. As for life after parents I don't think you understood what I said. I said that everyone makes mistakes, and that Joanna should help her kids grow stronger in their faith afterwards. No christian (no person for that matter) is perfect, and if we don't learn from our mistakes then what are we doing? The answer is that we are not living for Christ if you don't learn from your mistakes because if you don't learn then how can you stop from doing it again later? You are COMPLETELY right that public school does NOT help with teaching what is morally right. I do not disagree with you on that. I would also agree that I got a better education, but that doesn't give me an advantage in college over kids that went to a public high school. I'm actually in college now, and I along with everyone else in my classes am learning new things. I can say that I would have gotten in trouble a lot in public school because I would have stood up for my beliefs and wouldn't have listened to the liberalism. My bottom line is that trouble finds you. The devil will try to attack you ANYWHERE. If she trusts her kids to do the right thing, and if she believes they are strong in their faith then why keep them away from the unsaved? Jesus walked, talked, ate, etc with sinners all the time to teach and witness to them. We are suppose to spread God's Word anywhere that needs it, and I'm sure you can agree that a LOT of High School kids need Christ. It is ultimately her decision. I'm just sharing my thoughts. Oh, and Private Schools also need good christian witnesses (Just another choice). God Bless and have a good day.

If God wants to use you as a witness to someone he puts you in the right place at the right time whether homeschooled or not. I'm sure you have already been a witness. God uses us even when we don't know it. This angst against the way you were raised is disrespectful. Rest in the peace of knowing you had a blessed childhood. You weren't ready for life after your parents? Public school doesn't help with that! You probably got a much better education and are much better prepared for college on many levels because you were spared the below adequate standards of public schools. And bonus - you weren't indoctrinated to the liberal political agendas of the day, as happens at most public schools (believe me, I spent k-12 in public school), so you can think for yourself and stand on your own 2 feet.

My mother homeschooled me, and I thought it was great. Now that I look back I kinda wish I went to public school. I have grown up in church all my life, I am a christian, and I do appreciate my parent's thoughts of sheltering me from the sinful world, BUT I believe that I would have been a very good witness to some in public school and I could have changed someone's life. You may think that you are protecting your kids from the bad kids that go to public high school, but also remember that you are taking away their chance to witness to someone that needs it. I speek from experience that every kid will make mistakes no matter where they go to school, and it would be best for them to grow in their faith afterward or else they will not be ready for life after mommy and daddy. Please don't take this as me being disrespectful. I'm just showing my point of view, and maybe sharing a few things you haven't thought of.

Jesus promised that he would be with us every step of the way. So, he lived life challenging others to follow Him. I want to follow Him. I want to grow into who He made me to be. Lord help my unbelief. Help me to remember you are with me challenging me to sew the seed of your word into every place I go.

Home schooling your kids is a Lot braver then relinquishing your responsibilities as parents to the public school system.

"I don't want to go where the majority goes" Jesus said, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the roadthat leads to life, and only a few find it." I don't want to go where the majority goes either.
