Why Theology Matters

I think that was helpful, but a bit off. It puts God in a predicament. That some how God hasn't got all this work out, that perhaps the way really lies already within us to find our way home, that maybe it isn't dependent on a correct theology after all. You learned this idea and you keep reinforcing it in your institutions that keep this idea alive. That somehow God is dependent on a book to get us home. I have a very big question for those that think they know. Have you ever stop to question your own ability to know anything this way, thru intellectual comprehension. What if God really has it all worked out and he'll get us home without our help, that perhaps that light was actually placed in us by God? Isn't it at least possible? Just a question.

Hello Connie, You will never get past this understanding of God until you let go of the way you look at things. You've learned that correct theology is what gets you back to God and this is where the error lies. You were taught this idea by well meaning Christians and this leaves you with a conflict within. There are over 7 billion humans on earth, a very small planet in eternity, and really, no two human beings see the same thing, and if God is dependent on all those he called, see a theology the same, it will never happen. God is much bigger than that, and you must move beyond your little thinking to comprehend this. God is fully capable of communicating with his own, in a language or voice that thy will understand. He'll do just fine at calling his own.

Awesome video.... There would be no real need for seminary if the whole truth were taught on Sunday mornings and the need to study God were emphasized across the board.

Thats exactly what i was thinking. The last statement in the video. "wether what we know about God is true?" is slightly confusing to me. Maybe im looking at it from an odd angle. We know the Bible is truth, because its his living word. So we know it is true. Is it refering to the truth that we know, but an in depth study of it for a deeper understanding? I'm just curious.

See, I'm about to finish up my Fasfa for Liberty University Online. Im not so profesional about trying to make this a career. All my friends will tell you I'm a bible thumper. Seems to me the only thing I want to do sometimes because the rest, Besides my Wife and her son Dillon, seem to be a drag really. But I want this For Her, For Her Son, Because I was all for it the day my aunt introduced me to the lord in 97. I originally want to get my Doctorate in Theology - Christian Ethics - and Appologetics! Like I said though, I'm sure God will lead me into more of a mind of just being with Him, and Bringing Someone with me. I love to read, The B.I.B.L.E. yes thats the book for me! Not going for it because of a career, just to be closer, with the ones I love. I just wanted to say, Loved your qoute, the Famine of Hearing the word of The Lord! Just prooves my point!

Desire and acknowledge the LORD your God who formed you inside the womb of your mother.

“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land— not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. -Amos 8:11-

VERY COOL! You need to watch, read, listen.... and marinate on it!

If we trust the so-called God within, then for each person it could be a different belief system based on their definition of God - would that not be idolatry of gods with millions of perceptions of the identity of God and the unlikelihood that two or more would agree on the same definition of their God. There could not even be the hint of organized religion if this were so. However, even creation testifies to the identity of God, the Father, who is the same yesterday, today and forever, and Jesus is the way, the truth and the life allowing no one to the Father, but through Him. One God, one door - simply put - this is the way, without confusion and when the revelation of God reaches the conscious mind - the reality of truth brings clarity as our spirit's testify through the peace that passes all understanding and the puzzle pieces join, forming the picture of identity.

Most teachings in the Bible are plain. One just needs to read the whole Bible instead of doing the pick-and-choose in order to interpret the Bible correctly.

Yes! Because Truth matters! And no other subject is more important and vital to individuals, societies and nations! Everyone on earth deserves free access to the Holy Bible and needs Bible education!
