Facebook 1 Timothy 2:12 is a controversial passage about the role of women. How does it apply today?-Owen Strachan

Man should not listen to woman when she asks for something ungodly or contrary to the teachings of the Scriptures. Granting her wishes blindly is not at all honoring a woman. (It applies to children as well, of course.) Women are increasingly loosened, aggressive, calculative and demanding nowadays - that's why men who know their God must all the more acquire the Biblical knowledge and obey God rather than women, exercising properly the God-given leadership no matter how the society scorns men and tries to destroy the manhood God has intended. Repeating Adam's foolishness is a tragedy. By listening to Eve when she was disobedient to the divine instruction, he brought troubles upon himself and pains upon her and made her unhappy and made everyone sinful. This confused era is the best time for Christian men to manifest what true men are like.

Under normal circumstances, women have no spiritual leadership over men according to God's design. The disobeying churches miss out God's best and end up weaken the Body of Christ and promote the decadence in their society. Those who dislike I Timothy 2:12 typically dislike a lot of other Scripture passages, do not study the Bible properly and manifest some anti-Bible attitudes. They should instead consider and study why God spoke those words through Apostle Paul. What our post-modern minds prefer to hear is not necessarily always true. Men and women are equal under God but the roles are different by the creation order; even science agrees with this fact.
