Twenty-two years ago...in April 1990, My husband and I walked into a genetic counselor (after our son was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy). Her first words to me were "I understand you are pregnant" and when I told her I had miscarried the week prior to our appointment (after our son's diagnosis) she said "good" (I was almost 8 weeks pregnant and my baby had been due on my exact birthday). Doctors don't take faith into consideration, bottom line! God has a different opinion...I trusted in His instead and in 1991 (1 year, 9 months later) gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl and fifteen months later, another son. See, we chose to forgo any genetic testing. It wasn't my choice to have a defective gene, it wasn't these parents choice to have their daughter born with a rare disorder. But it was my decision to get a second opinion...and I did...God's! So did they....life isn't about choices, it is about decisions! Pray for this family please....Thanks!

I stand in agreement that God did not cause this baby to be this way. For after God created man He looked at everything and He said"it is Very Good" and when the fall came , death like we know it entered in(sickness, diseases, poverty, and the list goes on) along with what man has brought upon our environment. God still reveals His goodness and majesty in all things and continues to provide miracles and healings . I thank you Lord that by the finish work of the cross that Pearl Joy little body be completely healed for you bore it all for her and all others. In Jesus name, amen

My co-worker had a child with Trisomy 3, another "not compatible with life" syndrome. She had to battle it out with her care providers, insisting on not having an abortion. Her son lived for two or three years and was a blessing to those who knew him. Another friend's six year old down's syndrome son died a few years ago, but was always grinning ear to ear and gave so much love. I thought of how I missed seeing him swaying to the music just last Sunday at church. We seem to think that because a child is not born "normal," they are not of value, but we need to remember God's purpose for them is often something the "normal" people among us could never acheive. How will God respond to our nation that is so brutal towards those who are the most innocent and most helpless?

THANK YOU for the life of this "PRECIOUS" child! Doctors are not God! God NEVER sends a child into the world with no purpose! Mankind does not know Gods plans or His ways! MATTHEW 18:10 " Take heed that yes despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven." MATTHEW 18:6-9 "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. MARK 9:37 " Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me; and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.'".

I agree that He did not make her this way. But she is a gift from God, life is always a miracle. We live in an imperfect world that is contaminated with so many chemicals. Our systems are bombarded daily with pollution in the air, water, and soil that our food is grown in. Having a son stillborn from Potter's Syndrome after unnowingly living in a highly contaminated environment, I understand all too well the effect this world can have. My son's very brief life touched everyone around us and my grandmother told me that she loved me for the very first time at his memorial service. God is fathful to perfect the work He has begun in Pearl and His plan is perfect for her life and the lives of those who love her. May God be glorified with her life and continue to be glorified by the faith and love of her parents.

you are saying may God pour out his wrath on them, and God have mercy on them! But did you ever think to pray for them? Jesus came to save the sinner and set the captives free. We need to ask God for forgiveness on this as our thoughts and actions deserves forgiveness... like just he died for them also.

I just read Summer by Karen Kingsbury. I think this book would give them encouragement.
