I don't understand...what's funny about this? Are Christians supposed to cuss and swear and talk like the world, listen to what they listen to or be like them? I thought the true point of Christianity was walking in love and not condemning the world for who they are but to point them to Jesus. Are we insinuating that these supposed, quasi-Christians who have developed a generationally inherent type of verbiage are insincere, fake and sanctimoniously pious and have no care for the lost yet only for themselves? Help me to understand the benefit of making fun of these people?

It's time somebody wrote a 'phrase book' for Christianese the same way it's done for foreign languages. That would be fun.

Gotta love the self-awareness that leads to somebody making something like this. And it's funny enough for us heathens to enjoy!

  • 2012-11-23T20:34:29

Hahahahahaha!!!!! I love it... Spot on!

What I find saddest about this is it is so true but as Christians we won't stop doing it because we've created a subculture within a culture. I have been out of the institutional church for about 10 years and it is only now that I can understand why the world thinks we are so full of S. If I were writing this on my own site I'd put the -hit in as well. Nice job guys I really like it. I was recently at a baptism and some folks who don't understand church culture were with me. When it was over we had to translate all the Christian Lingo for them. It was actually really sad.

I like how this site is basically making fun of itself by having this video on the site. The best part was the end and it would have been better if they had used real words and not cop-outs. This comment will probably get taken down because it is too much "of the world and mean spirited". I am a Christian.

Hahaha LOVE IT the one thing they missed is "that's encouraging".

They aren't making fun of Christ, but rather the contemporary nonsensical North American version of Christianity with its ridiculous slang and lingo filled sub-culture masquerading as serious religion. These slang phrases end up getting passed of as thinking deeply about ones faith. One can trace the rise of this from the mid 1970s onward with the rise of entertainment based worship.
