The History of Worship Music - Funny and Nostalgic!

Sadness is the new songs are not written from a bowed knee with a broken spirit before God directed by his spirit, proof " the old rugged cross" will never fade as these puff songs sure they sound good feel good catchy tunes but never reach the heart with any staying power. It's all praise and not power give my songs that reach deep inside me with meaning it changes the soul

Dustin, so glad to hear your remarks. I don't want to give away my age, but I have been enjoying and worshiping to these songs since 1970. My daughter died recently. This is the first time I was just laughing and worshiping openly since then... and remembering. I remember, being late for church, because when she was just two, we would be walking around singing shout to the Lord, together...all the Brownsville Revival Songs. All these songs she knew by heart. I taught them to her, and more on my guitar. It is fun to worship Jesus, and kinda funny to reflect, how we worshiped 'back then'. I agree, this was being done in love.

Kyle, I appreciated your remarks, since I have sung and loved all those worship songs since the early 1970's. I did not have the impression they were mocking, just having fun in the Lord. When I listened to this I was laughing crying and dancing around my living room! My joy was made full!

I'm not understanding what's supposed to be so funny...All of these songs helped me not to give up when I was once a very troubled soul! Just goes to show some people work for the devil too!

There are already enough people in this world more than willing to pour scorn on the Gospel, we don't need so called Christians to jump on the bandwagon, I fear for them and any Christian who finds this mockery entertaining, shame on you!

I am not easily offended but this is offensive. No matter how old a song is it's words still can brings glory to God. It felt like you where mocking the word of the song.I know it was all done with good intent but it just does not come across in the right way.

The title of the video is "The History of Worship Music."" It's pretty sad, then, that all that is presented is a mockery of Christian songs from the modern era. Christian Worship music started centuries ago, and it should be respected and sung rightly.

I know every one of these songs and have led most all of these songs in many churches over several decades. I too have known Jude DelHierro (the author of "More Love, More Power") for many years and count him as a good friend. I don't think he'd be upset or offended at all... I think he'd be proud to know that his song made the "greatest hits" list of nostalgic worship songs. I think this whole video is great. Nobody's mocking Jesus here folks. Nobody's even mocking the authors of these wonderful worship songs. These talented musicians and singers are simply having fun with many songs that became so popular that they became icons, and they bring back memories for all of us. No reason not to laugh and have a lighthearted look at part of our history that was and is wonderful. This is a blast. (I suppose the negative commenters don't like Tim Hawkins either? Can we Christians laugh at anything?) I'd LOVE it if one of my original songs ever made it onto a video spoofing the most popular worship songs ever... what an honor for Jude.

This is not funny at all.....

Listen to all these people speaking for God. What if He loves it and approves and thinks the whole thing is fun? I thought this was a blast.
