Yes this is cool that they are having fun so important, but if they really knew about the power of words? and watch the video to see what I am talking about and then listen to some empowering childrens songs available to you dads and moms. blessings to all!

Honestly speaking I had no idea what the lyrics were. I was not at all talking about the lyrics. I was only attracted to the actions of a father and the kids singing on their way to school. Sorry for not knowing anything about the lyrics. My mistake!

I am on your side...

Shouldn't Dad's hands be on the steering wheel, and eyes on the road? There are plenty of alternative venues and avenues to be cool with kids, and I am all for spending time with children. But surely not in a moving car?

Preach it Lance. I hope all those bad musicians take the hint; stop playing or get better!!!!!!

Many good thoughts here-- pro and con. Here's the deal though to me (DISCLAIMER--"so what", you say.... "Amen to that"...I am nobody but whatever) I'm a professional musician ( only means I get paid to do this crap you're talkin about). Queen was a good group, and it's sad that Freddy Mercury died of AIDS. That's not a judgement call, just a sadness. Having done a lot of both secular and Christian music, I have an opinion about the Christian stuff. I keep hearing the same old three chord ditties with same old rehashed melodies and the same old voices with not much unique about any of them. Ya, I Know it's not about the art and's the message. But God's the One Who created everything, meaning He's creative. You look at all He's created, IT'S AMAZING and who can describes it's beauty; it's beyond words. And so, we, being made in His likeness, should reflect His creative nature... especially those who call themselves "artists". Most of what I've heard and played in the Christian genre just doesn't cut it when compared to the major players and if it occasionally does hit the mark, it's been ripped off of some secular song and is only a cheap imitation. Christian artists of centuries past were much more cutting edge for their day than we are today. We use all the tech we can muster up, but it's takes real creativity to make something last through time.

I used to sing that song when I am NOT yet a Born-again Christian. But now I have to be discerning what would I , say, do or even sing, specially with my children. In all our ways we should glorify God. Surely this Dad enjoys singing with his children...but WRONG CHOICE Dad! Teach them Godly songs....that would make your whole family more BLESSED! Remember as a Christian we have a new mind and a new heart that should please God!

stop been religious...for Christ fun and that's all....geez.

Richard Joe-Leonn ... If we mix a little evil with good, what do we get? Human nature. Paul says, "We're not supposed to do that! We've had enough of that. What we need to do is to do what is good and have nothing to do with what is evil." Paul says to avoid even the appearance of evil. That is how far we are supposed to stay away from it. Not just if we are doing evil or thinking evil, but even if somebody might come along and think that what we are doing is evil.

Gods in a tube now. Awesome.

I for one dont want my children singing this garbage. I have to agree with Wardell. If you don't glorify God in ALL things, then you're not doing as He commanded. Sure the dad is glorifying God by being a good dad, but he's not glorifying God in the song choice. My daughter loves singing Veggie Tales songs, the monkey song to be exact. The Monkey Song isn't a "Christian" song, but its not a song about someone killing someone either. There isn't a fine line or a grey area about music, good or bad, if the music is about sinning, its not glorifying God, PERIOD. This is a really cool dad for singing with his kids, but he's not raising his kids in the ways of the Lord by teaching them this kind of music is ok. And YES, the lyrics DO TO MATTER!!! Even if everything else he teaches his kids are straight lined Christian teachings, which would be awesome, he still can find more suitable music. Music is a passion of mine, and I'm very passionate about all the different styles of Christian music out there is very very VERY easily replacing secular music out there now if people would just be willing to try it. I'm really sad everyone in these posts that are saying we're judging the dad just because we think singing a song about killing someone is wrong! Search your hearts and ask yourself if you really think a song about killing someone is ok to sing with your kids!?

Wardell go bro! Preach it! Words matter....Get a new song Dad. This shouldn't be on Godtube. It is not edifying. Sing the scriptures.....

  • 2012-04-30T14:37:17

John Schultz - how about this one.. he who has no sin cast the first stone?? I'm using scripture correctly. leave the man alone. it was a father interacting with his children. Holy cow- when his children are older, what do you think they are truly goign to remember? The song? Or their dad being goofy and enjoying it with them? I have no right to judge this man, and neither do you. Are you without sin? Are you perfect when the doors are closed and no one can see what you're doing? Probably not.. and neither am I, and neither is he. It is God's job to convict his heart- not yours. It is God's job to change him, not yours.

Justin Byrd Sorry, dude. You're WAY off base here. The words we speak (or sing) are HUGELY significant. They are life and death - so says the scriptures. They are crucial, even. No one is denying the love and enjoyment this dad and his kids are getting by singing this song - HOWEVER, a better choice of songs with the same joy is preferable because those kids ABSOLUTELY WILL remember the words they have sung because that is how we are made! And also, no one is judging anyone's decisions - we are simply commenting. Last I checked, that's not 'judging'.

All of ya have some pretty good points there. We should be careful about our "dad's" role with regards to our kids, but what they walk away with is sometimes hard to figure out. I'm a professional musician (meaning I get paid to do that stuff you're talkin about haha). Queen was a great group, but it's pretty sad that a great talent like Freddy Mercury died of AIDS. That's not a judgement call btw, just a sadness. I have many friends in this industry who have died, much to do with the crazy environment that it perpetuates. On the other hand, I would love to see anything Christian that would even remotely aspire to the level of writing these guys (Queen and many other secular artists) were capable of. Ya, the message is important (I can hear many yelling at me), but couldn't we get some art in there too. Most of the songs I've in this genre are pretty much three chord dittys with the same old rehashed melodys with the same old styles with the same old voices. You get the idea. Ya , I know it's not about the art, right? Or wasn't it God who created everything? I'm glad He took the time to do it right. Aren't you?
