I love Carmina Burana and have performed it myself several times. It's not an opera, but a collection of Medieval German manuscripts by wandering poets. Orrf's music is unsurpassed in accomplishing the earthy, unbridled imagery of monks and drunks. The work was very popular in Nazi Germany, and remains a favorite of most classical music lovers all over the world. I would love to have been in this mall when the choir broke out into the O Fortuna with the kettle drums! Great job.
