Sounds to me like she's trying to sell a line of swim suits and thinks she's found a niche demographic.

Today it seems people are generally afraid to think about things on a deeper level. There seems to be a bitter sarcasm especially towards anyone with a Christian World View and personal conviction that wants to share it with the world. In my opinion, some comments below speak to a larger issue at hand. Do what you feel. live how you want, who are you to make me think about God mentality, disregard standards especially anything remotely similar to the Bible or Christianity....interesting we used to pledge to the flag as One Nation Under God or How about "God Bless America" Oh yeah lets kick God out of our Institutes of Government, Education, Finance, Judicial systems and even our hearts and minds and the "world will be a better place" I suppose. Take a look around your world and see if that's working out for "U.S.". -Hmmm

Did God not put Adam and Eve in the Garden naked? It was the Serpent that shamed them both into covering up. Maybe the Nudists have it right?

Chris Abe Check out the Himba, Swazi, Zulu and Papunya cultures. I'm curious to know why the practice of gender-equitable toplessness is sufficient grounds for us to assume that they also practice cannibalism and human sacrifices. I wouldn't condone such practices in my neighborhood, but at the same time there is no (valid) reason to assume that such practices are going on in somebody else's just because they're different. As for humility, I find that people - myself included - come across as most arrogant at the precise moment when we are calling upon others to be more humble. It comes off as "humble yourself before me!" If you have something new to teach me, I am interested to learn it; by and large, however, I have seen a lot of people in this discussion refusing to handle other cultures in a non-normative, non-judgmental manner.

Ian Kinzel - its funny how you reference 'other cultures' yet fail to recognize the context 'of the current culture' where this discussion is happening. These 'other cultures' perhaps practices 'cannibalism' and 'human sacrifices', would you condone those if they happened in your neighbourhood? Folks need to have a sense of humility while expressing their opinion and sincerely evaluate if there is some merit in the opposing viewpoint - maybe you will learn something new which will only help you. On that note, I agree with your last sentence mate :) cheers

Matthew 6:22"The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. 23"But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! This isn't a blame issue nor is this a social political issue, this is quite pointedly a thumbing your nose at God to "do your own thing" issue. This is a children teaching children that it's ok to do "whatever" as long as you are tolerant above all other virtue. Tolerance is not love, compassion and unselfishness are much higher on the scale of virtue as well.

Aaron Brown I find it hard to believe that God who hung the earth in nothing and the stars in the sky can't be powerful enough to protect His written word. Jewish scribes were very meticulous in copying the Word, character for character, so much so that if a mistake was made that scroll was burnt so that it would not be accidentally circulated. There is much evidence that the Gospels were written within 100 years of the events. Compare this to the written account out the life of Alexander the Great which was written 500 years after his death, yet we still take it as truth. We don't assume the mind of God, we know what it is because He tells us in His Word and by His Holy Spirit. He also tells us it will never change: "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Matt 24:35

I think the power thing came from the fact that if a woman was less modest (showed her ankles) Back in the day women were treated like property. "Women were not encouraged to obtain a real education or pursue a professional career. After marriage, women did not have the right to own their own property, keep their own wages, or sign a contract. In addition, all women were denied the right to vote." Women, as stated in the video about swimming, were often not allowed to be immodest. Better not show your ankles. *gasp* Modesty has decreased as our rights increased. While I think it's absurd to use our bodies as a representation of our freedom. I also can see how it might be viewed that way.

That verse is about how we shouldn't dress to impress people or get attention, but focus on our personalities and actions. I try to be modest in clothing and action, but just because a woman wears a bikini does not mean she is trying to get attention or "immodest". Being modest can be a good thing from the heart or it can be bad out of self-righteousness. I do not think a "modest" woman is any more Godly that a "less modest" woman because of her attire. I do not see anywhere in the Bible that defines modesty, demands it, or says an amount of clothing is Godly or unGodly.

Roy Holaday Dioliza Yogore Martir A lot of the information int his video was distorted. The study did not account for multiple variables including conditioning, culture and other things. No proper control group. The women in bikinis were sexualized not just casual women in bikinis. There was a similar study with homeless people and drug addicts. They were viewed as objects, but with avoidance instead of attraction. My guess is we are too quick to dehumanize people in general. Also, does this study mean that in the bedroom a man doesn't really care about his wife? She is just an object at that point? Muslim women in foreign countries are some of the most covered women in the world that I know of. They also suffer/have suffered a ton of abuse, been treated like property, and a number of absurd things. If the problem is how we dress why are some of the most modest women in the world abused at all? I think men are trained to react that way through media (especially porn) and just culture in general. To Christian's: Jesus saw naked women and could control himself. Scantily dressed women is no excuse to look at women that way.

Dioliza Yogore Martir Where in the Bible does it talk about how much clothing is appropriate? I don't recall any verse in the Bible that says women must cover things. What in the Bible defines boobs as private parts? What in the bible defines modesty? I believe out of love for men and their struggles we should be careful not to be really inappropriate with our attire. I think it's absurd we judge women so much on their attire.

Jeannie Oakes Herod but it was just Adam and Eve.. wasn't Adam allowed to lust after his wife? I think the coverings represents how God shed BLOOD to cover our sin and shame. I doubt he dressed them for modesty.. just sayin.
