I dress modestly BECAUSE I am comfortable with my body...I don't need anyone else ( man OR woman) telling me I Have a nice body. My ( pretty good by wordily standards) body is a gift from God. I believe HE wants me to be modest. And I am VERY comfortable doing so...Yes, men are wired to look at scantily clad women and usually ( naturally) react as is described in the video. So YES women have to "help" them to avoid this "natural" reaction by dressing modestly. What we do effects others. if you want to be taken seriously as a woman, then have self respect...and keep some mystery about yourself.

Guys get stupid around half-naked women? I had no idea. Good for you starting the company. Those swimsuits are lovely. "Power"? Has it occurred to anyone that when men want to communicate power, they wear a suit, not a jockstrap? Nudity and near-nudity is the symbol of vulnerability, not strength. Remember: nobody can exploit you without your permission.

Jenny Lee Ortiz but how a person dress does concern me....there are things i dont want to see. I dont have kids yet, but when i do there certainly things i would prefer them not to see until theyre older. furthermore, respect is a two way relationship, you cant expect any if you dont give any. that is why this debate will never end, because people seems to think clothes is something no one can decide for you and while up to a certain degree that is true, you need to respect others right of how they think. while you dont think that what a "lady" wear affect her safety, i would strongly disagree. Because while we shouldnt judge a book by it's cover but majority of us do nonetheless, between someone wearing jean and someone wearing booty short to school which do you think get harass more? when you choose to show people things like part of your ass cheek you should be ready to accept the consequences. if you're gonna reply with "ill be who i want to be" then please stop replying because you are basically expressing a double standard and i feel that this is where it is going.

Duy Ngo There is limitation and there is respect. Respect is the understanding of staying in your personal space and not to violate what's not your autonomy. Anyone can only do what they really want when it concerns only them. In the matter of dressing, no matter how I dress, doesn't concern you because it's my personal choice and space. Safety? That is the point, a woman should not have to worry about her safety no matter what she wears. A woman has been unsafe covered from head to to toes or skimpily. If a society has respect towards women, what a woman wears is irrelevant to her safety.

Travis S Dempster I have the right to be modest or not when I want to. Guess I'm lucky I don't have that label of "Godly woman" because I don't want it. I am a woman of myself. I go around with whatever piece of clothing I want whenever I want and that'd be my business. If guys want to run around in Speedos, that'd be their business too. It's their bodies and they have the right to put on whatever they want. There'll be no need for self-control from the men's side if they already have respect cultivated in them.

Jenny Lee Ortiz lol if you put it that way then really anyone can do anything they really want, and how they see woman is really their own way also. freedom is a right, but limitation are there to ensure people's safety in more ways than one.

The audio didn't work for me, anyone else have that problem?

  • 2014-03-12T00:52:49

Duy Ngo Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, so have your opinion. However, a woman's body is her autonomy, not yours. So whatever opinion you have about how she dresses, keep it to yourself. It's none of your business however bad her fashion sense is. Whatever standard I have or you have, I apply it to myself and you apply your standard to you. Nobody has to follow your standard. So if you don't like white leggings and a pink thong, don't wear them. Just because you don't those clothing items doesn't mean others who desire to wear those items have to be mindful of what you think.

Desiree Rodarte oh, and in case you would suggest that is sexist or any other such thing. would you wave a crack pipe in front of an addict? would you poor wine under the nose of an alcoholic? how then is it seen as a good idea to shove t & a in the faces of people that could well be sex addicts?

Modesty is a virtue. It is about being a Godly women. Men of course need to excercise self-control, always. But the point is doing what is BEST. And in regard to men and Modesty. They shouldn't be going around in Speedo's

The crux of the issue is a Christian perspective vs. a non Christian perspective. Non Christians don't have the same sense of Modesty or choose to abandon it. But a believing Christian chooses to be obedient to God's word. The point is live life Obedient to God, or in Disobedience.

Desiree Rodarte she asked a question. hard to see how that is judgemental. i think you're clutching at straws there desiree. ..... now on the second thing i see here. i certainly agree that a woman SHOULD be able to dress in any manner and come to no harm. But if you are as hot as you say you are, is there not an onus of responsibility to not entice weak minded people with a full frontal ... are you going to be surprised if someone fails to respect your want to flaunt without stepping over that invisible boundary?

Wayne Holden If you read the bible God clearly says it is our duty to make such "claims". The bible says "the spiritual man makes judgements about all things" it also discusses modesty, and dressing appropriately. Striving to please God, is not sinful. Willfully disobeying God and following your own itching ears, IS.

What a great message for Christian young women. Next, I hope you design summer wear which does not expose so much of a woman's breasts. This is another area where girls seem to feel pressure to conform to current fashion. Thank you for your ministry.

there is a place...it's called heaven

Tim Buckle I grew up in one of those tribal societies (15 years), and live in a country with a lot of other ones just like it (the second most in the world). I'm gonna ask you to not comment on what you don't know. Child abuse, sex, rape, whatever you term it depending on age disparity and cooperation are the norm... I would agree that culture can determine modesty, but you are way off base about their brains and how they're programmed...
