10-Year-Old’s Powerful Voice Leaves Judges Speechless With ‘House Of The Rising Son’

What a fantastic voice. I don't know how much influence her mother has on her accomplishments but she could exercise more discretion on her choice of songs. For a 10 year old young lady to sing about a house of prostitution is not appropriate. period. Before responses challenge my statement about the nature of my description I can assure that The House of the Rising Sun is a song about a house of prostitution in New Orleans where the singer is lamenting about being there. However, the song and its meaning does NOT detract from such a powerful and marvelous vice. Great job young lady!

Thanks so much Tim, well said and I agree totally,. It is amazing how some people can find a fault in almost everything and everyone. How hard it must be to live that kind of a life. Most of them do not have a clue on what music does for all ages.

And talent is given by whom?

  • 2015-02-17T18:25:01

She seems much older than 10

  • 2015-02-17T07:02:22

Just awesome.

  • 2015-02-17T03:50:32

Amy Lee Look what happened to Kirk Cameron from Growing Pains or Shirley Temple. You can't judge people while using just the bad apples. There are plenty of kids that have grown up with fame and have turned out well. Her mother seems to be a well adjusted parent with her daughters best interest in mind.

This has nothing to do with god, this girl has talent!

Amy Lee You can't compare this child with Miley. Mileys parents let her go as she pleased. Billy Ray said he was a friend first and parent 2nd. You want to talk about someone one riding someones coat tail, I believe Billy Ray did just that. What I don't understand is why you would want to bash this child before you even got to see how far she goes. Give her a chance before you condemn her.

When your kid is good at baseball you sign them up to play. When they are talented in dance, they take dance lessons. The same with many other talents; horseback riding, academic challenge, football, basketball, spelling bees, skating, etc...... They all are able to go further and compete in national and world competitions. It is the same here.

Why can't the people on this thread just communicate with Gratitude in their hearts? No one starts with bad intentions when they comment. But, these threads speak to the hatred that a society harbors when the truth is no one here knows anyone and has any real reason to be so hateful. So, start with compassion and end with thank you for sharing your thoughts. People can disagree on parenting style and can disagree with someone's comments. But, we all can agree that this child has a gift.

Did this happen to anybody else: the video stops right when she finishes singing but it appears that it's only half over. The timeline says it's 7 minutes long but it ends after about 3.5 minutes.

Amy, your point is well taken but your analogy is not even in the same ballpark. This kid is from down the road here from me and actually has raw talent. Her mom is just being supportive as any good parent would be. Miley, comes from a wild and crazy brood. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree so to speak..
